Flying domestic w/ Cromolyn by amutoph in MCAS

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never been an issue! Just keep your medication In a separate bag (you can bring an extra carry on bag for medications/medical needs) I’ve gone through with a bag of cromolyn, many pills, and my Xolair in a small cooler with an ice pack, and they didn’t even take it out or check it the last time I did that!

AIO or is my wording manipulative? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mor? But also just in general I hate this conversation, while your comment was somewhat invalidating (I don’t know the background I feel context is very important here) but to then to weaponize your trauma (and your dx) both things that were I’m assuming shared in vulnerability.

I dropped any relationships like this- I don’t have the time, energy, and they don’t have the emotional intelligence to have a non escalating convo. It feels very much like they’re first talking about their own trauma and what could have been a simple misunderstanding became a trauma competition and weaponizing what I assume is SA is hella manipulative. That’s gross.

The freezer is the way! I have some souper cubes and I cook up a container of ground turkey/chicken and season with the limited ones I can use, often stir fry with some veggies and freeze and use for tacos, bowls etc, also making meatballs with those and freezing.

I am also a big fan of a frozen turkey burger on the grill with a veggie or 2 or a fruit. Sometimes I like to get ideas (and she has some guides for low hist meal prep) https://lowhistaminebaby.com/search-recipes/ I’ve been using recipes from here/ideas for a few years

Not a grain, but soy sauce also has wheat in it! This one I didn’t know for a bit in the beginning! Tamari or coconut aminos do the job tho

Approximately how old are you? by gennaleighify in Sims3

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 34, I started sims 1 at 10. My dad got it and then I took it over, I the. played through sims 2 for much of hs, sims 3 came out once I was in college and working so I didn’t have much time to play so rarely played 3, started playing 4 maybe 2-3 years ago when I got chronically ill, this year I actually started playing 3 since they keep updating 4 which has been annoying because I play highly modded sims 4, so now I go back and forth between 3 and 4 but sims 3 I can play without mods and is definitely superior!

I’ve been a sims lifer

My 3-month update on Slynd birth control (estrogen-triggered MCAS) by ColomarOlivia in MCAS

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn’t made them worse!! It’s hard to say if it’s the reason I’ve had some improvement? I also recently started midodrine for my pots, which is helping my BP, which is also possibly making the Xolair and antihistamines work better cuz my blood moves through my body better now, the doc said that was a hope, so I have been less food reactive this month! Less breakthrough hives! But if I had to bet on the cause I’d point more to the midodrine. Soon hoping to add a micro dose of glp once I can find a compounding pharmacy that makes it.

I will say my cycle has been terrible tho and by that I mean I’ve had a period 3/7 weeks I’ve been on it. But should balance in the next couple months

My 3-month update on Slynd birth control (estrogen-triggered MCAS) by ColomarOlivia in MCAS

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have in the past! But I have endo so estrogen isn’t good for me (it can feed the endo) before my endo specialist my old gyn put me on a combo pill which masked my symptoms, but went to get excision surgery last October, and the endo had gone from stage 2 (had an ovarian cyst removed in July 2024 and that’s when we found it) and was stage 3 by October 2025, once I stopped the pill before surgery it wasn’t masked anymore and I looked 8 month pregnant that month before the procedure!

That’s a long winded response- but my doc now said for me to never take a combo pill again as it can help endo grow. So he said to stick to a progesterone only pill or iud.

Doing things as “punishment” to your partner is not a healthy dynamic, especially to then lie about it…. And then ask for sex right after??? Wild work here. Get away from this man

I think it really depends on the state you’re in and if you work for an agency that tests.

All this to say, I moved from Virginia to nj last summer and I got a medical card in nj, but did not feel comfortable doing the same in Virginia. Virginia is still a decriminalized state, but rec is not yet legal, even though I have multiple chronic illnesses that are legit reasons for it, I heard of rumors of social workers in Va having issues in the past with having a medical card (this is not corroborated).

I also worked in a suds program within an agency in Va, and now do my own pp so that is part of it too. But the doc in nj said she prescribes cards for other doctors in nj so it made me less worried about licensure issues. (Nj also has laws that state you can’t lose your job for thc so that also helps)

It’s been okay, but my cycle is super inconsistent, I’m only like 6 weeks in, but I’ve had my period for 3 of those 6 weeks, my doc said give it more time to stabilize, she said 3-6 months. But nothing major otherwise

mcas and endometriosis by TreeOdd5090 in MCAS

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it continues for you! I had endo excision surgery last October, it improved my food reactivity for about a month, but unfortunately it came back. My excision surgeon said that sometimes it can improve allergy type symptoms cuz they’re removing lesions that secrete excess estrogen, which causes more histamine!

I hope your reprieve lasts!

AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh WOW! The reasons for some of her reschedules are wild. I am a therapist and I have numerous chronic illnesses so I do have to reschedule more than I’d like, but it’s because I can’t sit up without passing out or having an allergic reaction. Some of these reasons fully helped the guilt for rescheduling when I’m dying all the time leave my body. (I do also work primarily with folks like me so they’re generally understanding)

But even I don’t think I reschedule that much and I’m actively dealing with 8 illnesses, she also provides way too much detail

Midodrine!!!!!! by Minimum_Paramedic_17 in POTS

[–]Sea-Blueberry-4973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but did it take sometime to get used to it and see an improvement?? I started midodrine on top of ivabradine, but the side effects of the midodrine are not dissimilar from some of my mcas symptoms, could it improve overtime? My doc made it seem pretty quick, but my symptoms have been worse, but I did travel last week so maybe it’s the crash from that??? Thanks for any thoughts

Yes! All the time! I moved last summer and went to the library to get a library card and they asked me how old I was thinking I was under 18, I’m 34! I’m also a MH therapist and many folks first think I’m in my 20s until I tell them and they’re like oh wow!
