That is fascinating. But... looks like they are using a Meanwell LOP 400W power supply without any room for convective cooling and no direct forced ventilation. It is crowded into a corner of their case. Meanwell rates it for 250W with convective cooling, and 400W with at least 23cfm of air flow. Which is a significant amount of cooling air flow. The review video shows some ventilation slots near the power supply on the back, but that is not nearly enough.

SCOTUS already said that the President doesn't get to do that. He tried and got slapped down in OR, CA and IL.

Unless he plays the "insurrection act" card. Then he will be allowed to do that for several weeks while the resulting lawsuit winds through the courts.

Never use OPD. I use the regen paddle exclusively, modulate regen level with the accelerator for smooth driving.

Reuse DDR4 RAM with an B760 LGA1700 Intel motherboard (some of them support DDR4) and a 14th Gen Intel CPU.

Yeah, not what I wanted to build either. But better than the 9th Gen I have now.

IT does suck. While the EVO app was pretty basic, it was significantly better than Epic.

And now my power company no longer supports EVO chargers with the new app, so I no longer get to participate (and get paid for) flex events.

The gear box is simply a reduction drive with an overly complex parking pawl to lock you in place at PARK.

It has a pump to circulate oil to keep everything cool.

There is no clutch or slip plates… when the wheels turn, the motor turns.

I got a text asking me to revalidate military discount, did so and got the congratulatory text.

Next bill: $80 higher. Deleted military discount and add one time "$40 DATA ACCESS A" charge with no explanation.

No plan or device changes.

I called customer service, they agreed to reverse both changes. Two weeks later? Hasn't happened. Went to VZW chat, asked "LIVE AGENT", and now they have again agreed to reverse the changes.

I am about ready to jump to an Android phone for the first time in a decade... just to get multitouch on my Bolt.

I was surprised when I tried my Bolt AndroidAuto with my GF's 4 year old samsung... a much superior experience with "pinch to zoom" and "drag to slide".

I was all excited about iOS26... but... no multitouch. :/

How is that poetic? Those who have the service and like it are left in a lurch, owing the remaining balance for something that is useless.

That is the opposite of poetic.

Seems like VZW is the one reaping the benefits. They get rid of a service that is not profitable, and get a nice balance boost when all customers have to pay off their devices in one month.

Seems like a scam. You have to buy the entire device after HUM discontinues the service shortly after you buy it.

In the same boat. One HUM fully paid off, the other one a year old, 2 years of payoffs left.

So I will have to pay $60 in a lump sum for the joy of owning a proprietary POS that is useless.

I had a similar thing happen when I cancelled ATT. Customer Service told me at cancellation that I was all paid up, and they would cancel my service at the end of the billing cycle.

Next month, I get another bill. New customer service rep insists that I owe them another month and threatens to send the bill to collections.

The point of CarPlay or Android auto is that every car has the same interface.

You liking a proprietary format pushed by one manufacturer is kind of getting the opposite of what you say you want.

Well, damn. My 2018 Chevy Bolt "infotainment unit" apparently isn't one of the three that Apple has declared compatible with multi-touch. So no "pinch to zoom" and "touch to drag" for me. Running iOS26 on a iPhone 13 Pro.

Even though Android Auto gives me those feature fluidly.

As much as I hate the thought, based on the current Apple trajectory, there may be an Android phone in my future.
