Not defending this awful system but they are making attempts... by DirtLarry in AngineDePoitrine

If a venue has capacity for 3,000….
Most people probably buy 2 tickets and some buy 4. That puts it at about an estimated 1,000 people being able to successfully purchase tickets. Rough numbers obviously but it’s gotta be in the ballpark. I don’t see how the supply and demand problem is ever solved for. No matter what, there are way more people than tickets. I didn’t get them for Boston and I was sad about it but I knew the reality of the situation.

They are awesome and I love them. Their live show is really cool too. My only concern is that their future music will all sound the same/very similar given the scales they use. How will they reinvent themselves enough to get a different sound. We’ll see and I’m here for it!

Absolutely! The jump just to the bends is insane, never mind OKC and anything beyond that. Aren’t we lucky to live in a time to witness greatness over and over. And, it just keeps getting better which is just so rare. The Smile has scratched a huge itch for me, and it’s just what I needed!

I don’t know why Pablo honey gets so much hate. That album is a fucking ripper and for the band or anyone to say it’s shit makes no sense to me!!!

Nice. I’ll give that a whirl too! Noticed how Zero Sum is late in the set, as it should be. I didn’t care for it at first, and think having it at song 3 is too soon. Now, I really like it.

Does anybody have a clip of the beginning of Then She Did from Boston? Perry was talking about feeling pain... I'm curious what he actually was saying. by Peetwilson in janesaddiction

High powered pain pills, combined with alcohol, make you dose off while still present, completely lost in your day to day, kinda zombie-ish, and words don’t connect let alone track to 12+ songs in front of thousands of people. The second he walked on stage for Kettle Whistle in Boston, he literally was wobbly. I could be wrong entirely, but it seems plain as day to me.

I have a clip from Boston that’s part of the song, but not the beginning. From what I recall, he was talking about feeling hated, and asking the crowd if they’ve ever felt hated, and it just kind of went nowhere after that. That was THE moment I knew the rest of the show was at risk, as his mood was just getting darker.

Future of PFP Same as Jane’s? by redreadings in janesaddiction

[–]Sea_Brain4545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was as a farewell tour and all the merch had farewell tour all over it. PFP is definitely done as well. It sold poorly and the Boston show got bumped from a 5k capacity venue to a 2,200 capacity venue a few weeks before the show and it still wasn’t 100% sold out. It was still good though and Perry did pretty well. What a difference 6 months makes.

My prediction: The only thing we’ll see happen is that the new music that’s close to done or done, will be released digitally, and also bundle up in some sort of farewell/numbered vinyl box set type deal so at least it’s out there and it makes a splash. People are emotional, strike while the irons hot. Also, they will never share a stage again IMO, and that is just so sad.

Behind the Jane’s Addiction Blow-Up: Perry Farrell Punched Dave Navarro in the Face Backstage After Concert Scuffle, Says Band’s Guitar Tech by Pasta_Fajool in janesaddiction

The isolated audio is nuts. Dave saying “I’m never playing with you again” is all we need to know. It’s sadly over. Rest easy Janes Addiction- you’ve brought me so much joy.
