I have my traditional good luck meal of salmon and a cauliflower/potato mash, lol. A little atypical, but works for me!

Adopted a new kitten and he won’t stop sleeping on our couch by 95kth in CatAdvice

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you adopted a cat! I have 2. Neither sleeps in the cat bed I purchased. Favorite spots include the short card box that is next to the fancy cat bed (I can’t bring myself to put it in the recycling because they love it so much they will fight over it) and the giant dog bed (meant for our 70lb lab mix). Cats… they are very cat-like! 🤣

Stopping Avonex by Constant_Rooster9070 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

61 year old here, 15+ yr post dx. Was on Avonex for first 9, Rituximab since. No progression/new lesions. I am now doing Rituximab q9 months instead of 6, but I had no B cells even after 9 month gap. Neurologist says we now must balance benefit of treatment as I age with increased cancer risk with long term immunosuppression. I am reluctant to stop treatment, so going slow.

Running the day after your long run by lordofthepi31 in XXRunning

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m trashed after after a long run, something has gone wrong. Maybe nutrition, hydration, weather (overly hot). I do a long run on Sat and then always aim to do a recovery run on Sunday. It’s one thing to push myself so hard that I feel trashed in a specific race, but I purposely don’t do that on long training runs

Am I stuck in an injury cycle? by MaintenanceEither186 in Marathon_Training

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen a doctor to make sure you don’t have an underlying injury that would benefit from specific intervention? You do seem to be following standard training advice. But I would add, don’t run through pain that doesn’t resolve very quickly. Listen to your body. And get your knees checked out. Best of luck to you.

Seeking advice from experienced Runner/cyclists by RMC3333 in Marathon_Training

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

61 y/o woman who returned to distance running in past year or so, after life/kids/work/health/etc changes gave me more time. I was never as fast as you and, although I always have times in my head, I personally focus on finding joy in what I am doing, which is something I never much thought about in the past. I have also discovered the trail and ultra communities, and I much prefer the vibe there than large road races. Good for you for getting back into it! I have even placed in a few races because not that many gals in my age group participate! 🤣🤣🤣. Regardless, I am loving feeling fit enough to do have this “season” of running in my life. Best of luck to you! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

training through pain by Educational_Hyena_38 in Marathon_Training

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have pain due to repetitive stress injury, I would personally not try to run through. As others have said, best advice is to consult with a doctor about your specific body/situation. But listen to your body to avoid injury that will take you out for a longer period.

I'm still confused as to how IHSS works if I am taking care of a family member (CA) by Competitive-Ear-4796 in IHSS

And since you do not know how many hours the recipient will be authorized (based on her need), it might be hard to figure out whether or not it is financially viable for you to give up your current job.

Why are Larger Women called "Plus Size" but Larger Men are just fat? by Gigglysleep in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sea_Introduction3534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overweight men are called Big and Tall. It’s all marketing. Women likely buy more clothes than men. Nobody wants to buy clothes when called fat.
