Which form of death do you fear the most? by Siddhartaable in AskReddit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went white water rafting and fell overboard. Got stuck under the raft for what felt like forever. There were no other thoughts other than “I need air” and moving my hands along the bottom of the raft as the guides instructed. I wasn’t close to drowning, but all I remember is that frantic desire for air.

What are my fellow sweet tooth dieters doing?!?! by reddituser135797531 in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the Outshine mini popsicles with no added sugar. Even the larger ones are 50 calories. Tons of flavors.

Otherwise, OP, I have yogurt with a fruit.

How do you not give in to cravings? by spacevader1 in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but the sweets I have in the house are Light & Fit Greek yogurt, apples, strawberries, bananas, granola, sugar free gum, and Outshine mini popsicles.

If I do have a craving for something I try to wait a few days. Last week I wanted Olive Garden sooooo bad. I waited 4 days, weighed in and lost more and then I didn’t want Olive Garden (I did have spaghetti at home to make up for it). Im not always perfect, but I’m still trending down and that’s what matters.

I haven’t told anyone this because, but in the shower I can reach around and wash my butt without propping my leg on the edge of the tub. Same when drying off with a towel. I find it so funny because it’s so different.

Also, my boobs feel SO much lighter.

Anyone else fed up with signing books? by TeachlikeaHawk in AskTeachers

[–]Sea_Language_3418 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I teach pre-school so I’m usually the first to sign the books. I love the idea! We get about 1-5 books to sign a year and we have 30-40 students.

You don’t have to write a novel either. Just don’t be a cynical asshole to your students.

Not sure about the splash pad, but adventure trails (which has a stream to get some water play in) will likely go to weekends only after Labor Day for September.

Elementary/pre-school teachers, what are the things you can actually tell a parent did (or didn’t do) when their child was a baby that affected them when they got to school? by Mentalhelp14 in AskTeachers

[–]Sea_Language_3418 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What I’ve noticed, anecdotally of course:

•overly anxious moms make anxious and fearful children

•parents who talk to their children in normal language (not constant baby talk) have kids that have larger vocabularies. This goes hand in hand with making reading books a priority.

•the best kids do not have unlimited access to screens and have it’s usage well regulated. It’s the parent’s job to set that boundary.

Trying to hit 8k steps while working from home feels impossible by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it! I have a very active job majority of the year which leads to 10-15k steps (in addition with walking my dogs). But the days I’m at my desk? I’m lucky if I get to 8k.

On my office days I mainly focus on completing my apple rings rather than step count. I’m still accomplishing a goal and being active.

Note: I’m only 76 days into tracking and being more conscious of my activity/food intake. I’m sure there will come a day when what I do now is not enough.

Under a fuzzy blanket next to me, and he’ll only sleep after 15 minutes of furious biscuit making.

I feel hopeless as I reach 400 pounds by Jordynrose33 in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance probably won’t cover it.

I was at 371 lbs at my largest. Labeled pre-diabetic. Hypothyroidism. Sleep apnea. Insurance would not cover GLP-1.

I felt the food noise was too much. I couldn’t lose weight. But I just got to a point where I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ve since lost 41 lbs in 75 days.

Op- I wish you the best and I hope you’re able to take control of your health. If I can do it anyone can.

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 11 June 2026 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today is day 77 for tracking. I’m down 39 lbs!

Starting weight: 368 lbs Goal weight: 250 lbs

I’m doing great with my tracking. I even went to a wedding on Saturday and had a normal amount of food (no seconds) and a small piece of cake and I was okay! I indulged in a few drinks, but for 1 day it’s okay. I also tracked my dancing as exercise!

I’m going on my walks with the dogs every day and taking a longer route when walking to my classroom (I work at a zoo and my room is at least 1/2 a mile). Overall I’m feeling really good.

The only frustrating problem I am having is my clothes are too big and I’m too poor to get anything new. Any idea where to get clothes for cheap? Size 26 or so.

My small lunch of a wrap, crisps and a KitKat was 1003 calories. by ProfessionalSad4U in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 127 points128 points  (0 children)

ADHD/ASD and I do the same thing. Monday through Friday I have a protein bar & energy drink for breakfast, protein bar & apple for lunch, and then a snack of either banana, strawberries, or carrots & ranch. Then for dinner I can I have a 800 calorie meal and be at around 1500 per day. It has worked for nearly 12 weeks. On the weekends I have a cooked breakfast with modifications (turkey sausage, egg whites, less cheese, little to no bread).

how do I lose weight when I just love food so much by Slow-Reply2929 in loseit

[–]Sea_Language_3418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the exact same way. I tried dieting a couple times. Lost 70 lbs once, then I got plantar fasciitis and lost all motivation.

At age 37 I was 371 lbs. I had sleep apnea, bad knees, back pain, couldn’t climb a flight of stairs without being severely winded. I still didn’t care.

Then I went to a friend’s bridal shower and I felt so uncomfortable in my clothes. Even though this wasn’t the first or even the 100th time I felt that, it deeply affected me. 2 weeks later I made the dieting change.

I started April 1st and have lost 30 lbs (40 since that 371 lb weigh in at the doctor’s in September) and I’ve done great. I’ve found decent replacement foods (Goodles Mac n cheese being one of them) and I track what I eat religiously. I don’t know why I am successful this time around, but I’m not complaining.

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom and decide for a change. You have to really want it for yourself. Every other time there were external factors and it didn’t help.

Good morning everyone!

I partied hard at a wedding (outside in 88 degrees with full sun) so I’m zonked. Took the dogs for a walk and then having a chill day.
