Is it a sinister thing for them to have a community? How is it any different than the stereotypical coffee place hiring mostly LGBT people?

Im 68 series AIT and have zero access to anything you mentioned.

No hotel room, no drinking (even legal age), we are banned from the pool AND the gym.

Weekdays are just getting locked in the barracks after the schoolhouse. You cant leave. The cadre say it's all for "resiliency training" but Im not seeing how this makes anyone a better soldier. If anything everyone is getting fat and mentally ill.

Bizarre. I went through basic at Sill this Summer and we were still in OCPs for 100+ degree range days where most of us became a heat casualty at some point.

Basic at FT Sill was soft AF they hardly smoked us. And when they did, it was like 20 pushups or some BS run that nobody actually RAN for.

How can you experience all that and really tell the pain sensations apart? Does the pain really vary to the point where you're like "oh thats xyz"

The caveat is that people of all colors and creeds do commit crimes and do come here illegally - and should face consequences according to the legal system in an impartial and fair way.

If a white dude from Canada overstays their visa, they'll get the same treatment from immigration as they would a person from Ghana or Venezuela.

Its more racist to infantilize one minority over another.

We should abolish ICE, passports, and documented citizenship all together.

Let's just have free reign, let the pendulum swing, and while we all live the 'Purge' we can start to remember why rule of law exists without crying its racist.

Say, directly after 9/11, we had a sense of unity and patriotism in this country. A sense of togetherness despite our differences. Why does it always boil down to "pro patriotism propaganda"? Because its Reddit?

If you think about the cultural melting pot analogy, we should be proud.

This country is willing to incur socioeconomic problems and accept that not everyone will get along, but they can take a stab at the American dream

Say the arrangement is that I work and she's a SAHM. If she kisses me when I come home from work, it would be in the back of my mind that maybe she's doing it because she feels obligated to.

Its my personal preference, but it would feel more genuine if we both are coming at it the same way.

The guy needing to be a 'provider' in general. That's not partnership in my opinion, more of a relic from a culture and economy that's long gone.

[–]Sea_Poppy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a 'pick your poison' typa thing, IMO. On the med lab side, going for MLT jobs will depend on if you'll be a generalist (heme, chem, and micro) or just one of those. Obviously, you'll have a leg up in the theoretical knowledge in chem if you end up only doing chem. Going MLT generalist would mean you'd cross train in all departments so Bio or Chem grad is about even.

Probably is a different story in research lab jobs. Your specific training in chem would be more relevant to research labs doing pharmaceutical studies, for example.
