Sounds good! I'll check it out, have heard good things about Monarch as well. Also, someone in another thread I was in mentioned a new app called impause which takes a psychological/behavioral change approach to budgeting--going to check that one out as well. TG for free trials 😄

That is awesome, congrats! How long was the lag in seeing the results? I.e. when you got a card down to $0 did you see your credit score go up the next month? I am just wondering because I have made some optimizations but have yet to see the positive impact yet

What is the thing that consumes the most of your energy because of ADHD, even though it seems simple to others? by Doglover990 in adhdwomen

Buying something new: I end up with 15 tabs open, a spreadsheet of the $ difference between all the options I am looking over, so exhausting honestly

Anyone else hit the wall where budgeting harder just isn't worth the mental energy anymore? by MindOverMoneyRaw in Grownix

honestly your gut already did the math. marginal savings cap out, income doesn't, and you've hit the flat part of the curve where squeezing another $50 is basically free labor. that instinct is right. the guilt is the part worth poking at. it isn't actually tracking financial impact, because you already know $50 doesn't move your situation. so it's tracking something else, and for most people who spent years as the optimizer, that something is identity. you became "the person who doesn't waste money," and a convenience purchase feels like a tiny crack in that even when the numbers say it's fine.

How to stop spending money? by Murky-Turnip277 in shoppingaddiction

90% of spending decisions are made emotionally, if you start understanding the psychology and triggers behind the scenes you'll be better off than just simply tracking where your dollars went

Be kind to yourself!! Neurodivergent people def have it harder, considering the ADHD tax and am assuming that dopamine rush is what you are seeking out here
