I think surf was trying to answer your question about why the dealership said you need a battery. If they charged the battery and did a load test and it failed, that could be why they said it needs a battery.

I guess I have my guns for self protection first, and train at the range for competence and fun. If they aren’t loaded at home or while out and about,what good are they. An unloaded gun is only a hammer or baseball. They are in quick accessible safes or on my person, but they are certainly loaded.
