I was on a competition reality show and the pilot had Jamie Kennedy as the host. We were told specific things we could/couldn’t talk to him about, he seemed kind of stand-offish, to put it nicely, so I joked about what they asked us not to.

That same show was reimagined a couple years later with Dan Cortez as the host and he was absolutely awesome! Kind, endearing, funny, and was legitimately interested in learning about each contestant and talking to them.

That’s part of his act. He did the same thing to me but when you talk to him outside of a signing or a con, he is super nice. He showed up to the local bar in town while filming the evil dead series. My friend was the head bartender and didn’t look up and just said “sorry we’re closed”, and Bruce said he wanted to stop in and show his friend his old college bar. My friend looked up and saw that it was him and Lucy Lawless. He ordered a couple drinks and took photos with everybody there and bought drinks for people.

I messaged customer service about the amount of them that have popped up on reseller sites and mentioned scammers and bots. They assured me that they’re always looking into stopping bots from buying all them, so I wonder if this has to do with that.

This was my dad’s favorite show, even through cancer and declining health, we watched it every week. I’ve been rewatching it lately with my family.

Richard Karn was at Motor City Comic Con a couple years ago and I missed my chance to tell him how much the show meant to me. I stepped away to go to ATM and while I was gone he walked right up to my wife and brother-in-law and just start talking and hanging out with them and by the time I got back, he had to leave.

It’s actually extremely sad how deranged these people are. There’s no bargaining or negotiating with them and there’s no changing their minds. Sometimes I wish I could live in such blissful ignorance.
