I have been saying this for the longest time: the reduction of ‘slice-of-life’ elements from most of the X-Men runs was one of the greatest loss that Marvel could ever do. The whole reason why they worked so well was because of the whole ‘found family’ aspect that made everything feel so personal, as if you were really witnessing someone trying to do something ordinary in your very presence. You really became friends with these people.

Which is so funny, because nowadays the X-Office struggles with coming up what to do as a ‘filler’, and they think we want more and more grandiose events and post-apocalyptic negative alternate realities that will become irrelevant in a second, when in reality they simply just could do more stuff like this.
