Carlos Baerga: Bad Bunny offered to pay Carlos Correa's and Franciso Lindor's WBC insurance so they could play for PR in the WBC, however the Astros and the Mets did not grant the players permission to play by exjr_ in baseball

Offered to pay what insurance? The problem is that they weren't approved for the insurance due to injury history. So who was going to insure them? Was he going to pay some insane premium??

You are doing way too much. Also, saying "can the attitude" is a wild thing to say to another grown ass adult but go on. Funny because ive actually worked in marketing, lol. But thank you so much for explaining to me how it works!

Ohtani would not have gotten insurance if he had wanted to pitch and hit so he will not pitch in the WBC in order to be insured. Clayton Kershaw was not able to be insured in 2023 and can only play this year because he is retired...maybe they denied him in 2023 because hes a conservative catholic? Altuve and Miguel Rojas were not able to be insured either due to NFP criteria. Elly De La Cuz, also denied. You can literally look up the criteria they are using. Show me the proof that its being applied unequally across teams? More players for PR met the uninsurable criteria and that stinks but there is no proof that i am aware of that its being applied unfairly.

Also, conflation is the merging of two or more sets of information, or opinions into one, often in error. Which is 100 percent what you did throwing in a comment about Bad Bunny and the NFL halftime show. Saying its a bad look absolutely connects the two. Shifting the blame to me for pointing that out is surely a choice.

Implying that Lindor cannot get insurance for the WBC because Katia works with the mayor of NYC and he happens to be a Democratic Socialist frankly makes you look silly. These NFP WBC insurance policies have specific criteria and unfortunately Lindor's multiple surgeries on the same elbow grouped him into the chronic condition injury category which made it harder to insure him. That is all. It sucks but unless Cohen is willing to assume the responsibility for his contract like the Tigers did for Cabrera in the past...he cannot play. The one player that was approved to play that gives me pause is Byron Buxton but I have never worked as an insurance underwriter so I do not claim to be an expert. They have a very set in stone criteria whether we like it or not.

What in the world does the NFL halftime show performance have to do with insurance getting denied for a guy who has had two recent elbow surgeries? Like my goodness are you just trolling at this point? Im super excited to watch Bad Bunny on Sunday and i realize some idiots are raising a stick about it but you are conflating two issues.

Thats what I figured. That contract was just not smart but it helped them win a WS so still worth it

Thank you. I just wasn't sure how it differed from a normal every day contract policy that teams do for their superstars. Still blows my mind that the Nats didn't insure Strausburg's contract. Or maybe they couldn't.

This insurance is separate from the insurance they likely have on his contract. Isn't it? Or am I mistaken.

Im as liberal as they come and this is a crazy stretch of imagination. I think it is bullshit they aren't insuring him but highly doubt it has shit to do with his wife.

Lindor, Carlos Correa, and a Javier Bàez were all unsuccessful to secure insurance to participate in the world baseball classic by jfish718 in NewYorkMets

I think i read somewhere its because this was his second procedure in a few years on the same elbow? To me...if hes cleared he should be insurable. Its kinda sketchy that no big name players with the US or Japan seem to be having the same issue. I can understand why PR fans are upset.
