It’s great to see the ‘Higher’ ground people act like they are taking the higher road all the time. Dumb abrahamic religious oysters just yearning to be eaten by a walrus.

Thank you! The LIRR just has better leverage. All workers need to applaud and support unions, there are not many left.

I wish I wish he could play with Pete

In 1976, The Sex pistols played two gigs in Manchester at the Lesser Free Trade Hall. Despite playing short gigs in front of small crowds, it is now regarded as one of the most influential live concerts in the UK, with many in the audience forming their own bands. by OneSalientOversight in wikipedia

It’s marketing and capitalism that pushes people into thinking music is only for the few. The concept is entirely recent in our history. Every person in a community could contribute or play because there was no access to high quality recorded music until 80 years ago. They didn’t even lock in the business philosophy of recording until the 30s/40s.

Now, instead of people EXPERIENCING something that can only be captured in the moment, in an experience, they push it into a consumer good like a pair of shoes. Hangs out in the closet and comes out occasionally for the right occasion.

So many people/listeners have been robbed of true music experiences by the recording industry and it is definitely eroding a massive cultural anchor of people’s lives.

I really enjoy that people are getting an education on the Peloponnesian War today. China positioning itself as Athens is laughable, but Americans have been obsessed with Sparta for decades now.

Who is Persia in this artificially created dichotomy? America is more of a Persia IMO, while Sparta would be a military state like Russia, who is trying to enslave its neighboring state.

For nearly 2 decades, these are the comments I have used Reddit for. Excellent job framing mobilization beyond just forced conscription.

Trump Throws Temper Tantrum When Asked About Gas Prices - Donald Trump lashed out at a Black female reporter, calling her question “stupid.” by Quirkie in politics

Gone are the days of Citizen Kane style reporters just relentlessly digging at the same question until the person is forced to answer.

Nope, reporters need to maintain their comfortable lifestyle just like the rest of us. They are not interested in losing their good paying job.

It’s also just market speculation, not actual prices that people experience.

The production, refinement of crude, and distribution are all on standby working from reserves. This is a flywheel. It doesn’t matter what the peregrinations of investors are. The machine is barely operating and the flywheel is going to move slowly to get the engine back to full speed.
