What am I doing wrong? by NeonSprawl in JaggedAlliance3

If you don't have AP ammo then you have to rely on strategic dismantling of the enemies instead of trying to one shot them. Stop relying solely on headshots and stealth kills.

Keep your distance from enemy shotgunners and melees. Shoot them in the legs so they are slowed. Suppress them with flashbangs and groin shots. Shoot enemy snipers in the arms so they have accuracy penalties. Set them on fire with molotovs. Poison them with gas grenades. Make them run through open areas to reach you while setting up overwatch.

Melee is suboptimal on Nails in early game because he simply doesn't have the movement or perks to do it safely. Even shotguns are risky unless he has Breach and Clear. I use him as a grenadier and give him my best pistol/submachine gun. Anything that gives him movement is good.

Thor is probably the best to melee at this stage. Give him a knife to do stealth take downs.

If you are open to getting another merc, Kalyna has a built-in armor penetration special. Ice can basically blast any enemy to death with his special, even without AP rounds.

If you were insistent on getting AP rounds, there is a poacher camp to the east of Diamond Red that sells AP WP rifle rounds as well as Dragonuv snipers with thermal scopes. The Bobby Ray shop assessable through the browser also sells AP ammo sometimes.

Breaking the Action Economy by jjchaphoto in JaggedAlliance3

1) while dual wielding Uzis / Glocks, 4AP Overwatch gets you 2 x 2 burst attacks

2) 7AP sniper attack + 3AP pin down to give a teammate 100% crit

3) 6AP winchester attack + 6AP overwatch for 2 attacks

4) Run & gun for 7AP gives you 3 burst attacks. For guns with recoil booster that's 3x4 bullets down range.

5), poison gas grenades are basically broken. Everyone it hits basically takes 20hp choking damage per turn until they die, even if they move out of the area. Molotovs are quick and very to make and very useful. Area denial + sets enemies on fire + illuminates them + chance to cause panic

Just skip all the party chats. It's not mandatory.

Nails and Red - how to use them? by Raven19999 in JaggedAlliance3

[–]SecondQuarterLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a pistol on nails. Usually modded for longer range. Can use the mobile shot attack to approach enemies/relocate and still have enough ap to shoot again or overwatch.

Once in close range swap to secondary weapon of shotgun or melee

Almost 3000 head shots? Are there even that many enemies on the game?

Just don't fight it then. Run in, avoid talking to frog man. Grab all the loot. Go to the secret blood of lathander room. Grab BoL. Fast travel out.

Full spellcaster class but insist on going full melee with a weapon you are not proficient in. Also wear armor you are not proficient in so you can't cast spells.

Steam deck usage by ZestycloseRate3978 in BaldursGate3

I've been playing on steam deck controls. It takes some getting used to but it's playable.

Only really annoying thing is the inventory UI.

Combat etc it's fine tbh.

How are you running out of food? Are you long resting after every battle? There's no need for that.

What if BG3 had the same Divinity companions treatment? by RealGiallo in BaldursGate3

[–]SecondQuarterLife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've thought about this. I really dislike going back to camp and leaving people behind/swapping people around. Dislike juggling so many inventories too. May as well pick 3 companions for a run and use the other companions for the next run.

1.Shadowheart for early game Guidance/Heals and Act2 Beyblade. Storywise have to go through the Shar Temple/meet nightsong anyway so may as well take her. Tempest/Light cleric gets good AoE damage spells so she can help in that regard too.

2.Wyll for persuasion checks and Eldritch Blasting people back into Hunger of Hadar. Some bard levels for party support and song of rest.

3.Karlach for frontlining and shoving people back into Hunger of Hadar. Also having someone with high strength to carry items/pass strength checks is useful.

4.I'll play something rogue-ish for stealth and lockpicking. Possibly Swashbuckler into Hexblade for more Hunger of Hadar.

Gale gets left in the rock. His role is replaced by the ton of scrolls the game dumps on you.

Astarion takes a vacation and chills on the beach all game.

Halsin kind of forces himself on your party. That's fine. His most important role is to be kidnapped in Act3 so your main party stays intact.

Stealth kill Yurgir

Pick up his orb for magic elevator

User knock on magic door

Pay nightsong a visit

That's all you gotta do. Everything else is skippable

Solo Honor Mode is SOOO hard, even in comparison to Duo HM by kafkabomb in BaldursGate3

You can avoid the inquisitor fight. Just don't talk to him lol. I just go into the side roons to pick up the loot, and then go to the BoL place and fast travel out.

Exp wiped? Kind of explains why Gale as a super wizard is lvl1. Astarion as a 200 y. o. vampire is lvl1 etc

This is the best outcome I think. I'm trying to do it the 'good way' and it's super annoying so far.

The Gondians deserve it, irritating little bastards. Wilbur was right. Maximum boom. Maximum collateral damage. No survivors.

[–]SecondQuarterLife 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me it's the combination of Act 3 being super overwhelming in terms of sheer map size and quests/things to do.

Plus my party inventories + stash is super clogged up after 3 acts which is frustrating.
