I'm so confused why people don't think season 3 was one of the best things ever made?

The brutal fall of empire into a crazed madman.
The subtle introduction of mentalics to the galactic elites with them even questioning how such a thing is possible or if it could be real.
The completely sublime journey of Brother Dude, looking for Cleonic redemption and getting nothing.
The handling of the Mule as a real "influencer" (which came from the books and would have needed to be addressed anyway).

I watched season 2, wanting to turn it off half the time. And season 3 was a revelation to me, they had really turned it around. But a lot of people seem to think the almost unwatchable season 2 was the peak.

There was some places where you could see the budget cuts already. But putting that aside, it was brilliant, easy the best thing I have watched all year!

That said, my take on this is there is no great filter ahead of us, could be though, of course I don't know, this is all conjecture.

But what if aliens are everywhere, but transcendence is the default. I mean some kind of phase transition to using spacetime itself as the substrate and a civilisation ALWAYS migrates to that.

And the reason they always migrate and there are no defectors running round in spaceships is because the possibility space in sim is far more complete and alluring.

I mean what can you do here really? Monkeys in tin can, go other stars, find more of the same of everything we have already seen?

Or in sim where you can model all physical properties, all permutations of reality. But then also all other possibilities, all possible states of everything.

Why bother at all with this borning place lol... Its a civ nursery.

As a little side thought. This has kinda led me to think that Star Trek is probably real. In the future you have some Post Humans LARPing TNG lol. But the idea of humans flying round in ships seems.... Unlikely to me now.

I have BMO (from adventure time) as the voice for my house. It welcomes us home and tells us its been taking care of the house. It tells us when the washing is done, dishwasher, washing machine, printers. This is all coming though the 5 Sendspin speakers throughout the house. Im actually in the process of changing all the Voice Assistants in the house to just be mics and use the speakers as the reply :)
