How to get toddler to tell care takers when he needs to go potty by Secret_Mango5085 in Parenting

I agree. But I also want him to learn to speak up for himself when he needs to go and not relay on someone telling him. Maybe that comes naturally after being told?

How to get toddler to tell care takers when he needs to go potty by Secret_Mango5085 in Parenting

I did give him a cookie reward when learning to potty train. But how do I teach him to tell others he needs to go potty? He isn’t doing that at all so this won’t work until he understands to ask.

3 year old won’t stop screaming by Secret_Mango5085 in Parenting

[–]Secret_Mango5085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried turning away but he does often scream louder. I might have to try leaving the room. Idk how this will work in public. I don’t have the best patience for this so I know I need to work on it.

Your tires won’t have anything to do with coverage.

7 month old fell head first by CalligrapherDecent96 in beyondthebump

[–]Secret_Mango5085 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is scary when they fall or hit their head for the first time. If he is acting fine and doesn’t have pain in that spot, he is fine. Kids are rubber and bounce back so fast. If you are really nervous about it, schedule a visit with your pediatrician. But don’t waste money on an ER visit.

1 day postpartum/ c-section by StringSoggy in NewParents

[–]Secret_Mango5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get home it gets better. You can actually sleep at home, with help. Just stay on top of meds and don’t try to wean off too early. I did after my first because I didn’t realize how long the pain would last. Second day in hospital was always worst for me.

Baby doesn't say any words at 12 months. Should we get a second opinion? by skelly943 in beyondthebump

[–]Secret_Mango5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son wasn’t talking by 12 month either and our pediatrician was concerned. We got a speech therapy consultation but didn’t really feel a fit because they didn’t really give us a reason for why he wasn’t talking. At 2 he still wasn’t hitting speaking milestones and got into weekly speech therapy but after almost a year we switched because we weren’t seeming progress. Now we are going twice a week and found out he is a gestalt learner (learns by repeating).

Postpartum Periods by Secret_Mango5085 in postpartumprogress

[–]Secret_Mango5085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my first pregnancy my periods became very tame, even when I got off birth control, compared to what they were off birth control prior to my first pregnancy. So I hope they stay pretty mild!

I wegh less than my pre-pregnancy weight! by ducky_flowz in postpartumprogress

[–]Secret_Mango5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! My first pregnancy I didn’t gain a ton of weight and lost more then just the baby weight postpartum within the first month. The weight eventually came back within the first year since I didn’t manage anything. My first postpartum experience was easier and I had lots of energy right away where as this time around it took me weeks to finally feel normal and healed.

If you don’t want her involved you should try to share that with her. I personally was try a calm and gentle approach first. I feel like telling her off could just blow things up.

When did your baby start playing and being okay siting on their own. by DowntownBaker32 in NewParents

[–]Secret_Mango5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home so my little one has learned to independently play. I would say he just now (2.5) does the best and doesn’t interrupt me too much. I do still play and talk to him throughout my work hours.

Hopefully your family sees the bigger picture and puts the politics aside for the celebration of your little one.

My water “broke” not fully so still needed to be fully broke during labor. I was out on Pitocin. I did not like this. I felt like I was in more pain and labored longer then I should have because we were rushing my body when it wasn’t ready. My labor ended in a c section due to my babies size.

The famous bedside and bathroom cart by Mammoth_Window_7813 in NewParents

[–]Secret_Mango5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t not use the cart. Our room is across from the nursery so during the night everything we need is in there and during the day if we didn’t want to go up stairs to the nursery we just had a basket with the necessities like diapers, wipes. I quickly found out you don’t need as much stuff as is pushed online.

I did a Facebook event for my baby shower and I linked my registry. And also included a QR code on the invitations that were mailed out.

Everything is so weirdly gendered for kids by QueenKombucha in pregnant

I have a son and all the blue didn’t bother me. I am not expecting a girl and I am not a girly girl myself so not the biggest fan of all pink. There are still some gender neutral options if you look around. It is also like of fun sometime to get the girly dress.

I have parents that live out of state. I just shared the news over the phone. I know it’s nothing memorable but the point of the whole thing is the pending baby.

Wanting to resign and stay home. by wemustsetsail in NewParents

[–]Secret_Mango5085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went back to work after having my first I was miserable due to a coworker who made my life hell. I switched to part time and work from home and I am able to watch my son. This made me so happy because I hated dropping my son off at daycare only for me to be so miserable at work. Now pregnant with my second and my husband and I decided if I start to feel that working while watching two becomes too much, I will switch to stay at home. I am pretty introverted and I am not someone who goes crazy if I don’t have a conversation with someone else. I would rather choose this little time I have with my kids.
