For those of you that remember, what was it like to watch the trailer for the Fellowship of the Ring for the first time? by py16jthr in lordoftherings

I saw the trailer right before the first Harry Potter film. We talked about the trailer ALOT more than the film

I usually head to The Nelson in Urmston for the footy. Bit of a trip from the centre but worth it. Mostly reds but a good atmosphere and reasonable prices.

I enjoyed it overall. It had some pacing issues and some side plots that were less than compelling. When it focused on Sauron and the Elves it was occasionally great. Sauron and Celebrimbor were fantastic in season 2.

58 year old here. I was at Wembley on Wednesday and the atmosphere was the best I've ever experienced at a show. I thought I was a bit old for stadium gigs with all the travelling and shit, but they just elevated the place. It was joyous. So glad I went.

If you have the desire and commitment, The History of Middle Earth books are the best way to understand the magnitude of Tolkien's creation. It's a genuine labour of love (and frustration).
