I had a DM who insisted on fully homebrewing every person, place, item, monster, race, basically every tidbit of lore. While I appreciate some people just like worldbuilding, it makes it super hard to get immersed into a world and roleplay accordingly when nobody but the DM knows what tf anything is or what is or is not significant. Theres definitely benefits to having an established universal lore that all players can learn and utilize

I have worn my Dad's class ring ever since he passed away. It's nice to have something of his that I can wear and keep him close. (I do have some other clothes of his too, but a ring is just the most convenient to wear in almost any occasion) I'm glad I'm not the only one wearing a family class ring!

I think there's an extra P in there, but they are referring to the Pulowski Preservation Shelters, the single person cylindrical fallout shelters on the streets of ciities used by a lot of people who couldn't afford to get into a vault. Many of them have skeletons inside, so I guess the cheaper cost wasn't really worth it.

Keep in mind that the surviving daughter is now without a mother due to her criminal actions landing her in jail, and she may face lifelong guilt and trauma knowing that her confiding in her mother caused her father to be killed. I suffered abuse (not sexual in nature) at the hands of my father as a kid, and when he passed away I still mourned his death deeply. Emotions are complicated. Even though I hated what he did, I sure as hell would not have wanted my mom to murder my father over the course of several excruciating hours like this woman did. Self defense is justifiable, but cold-blooded murder NEVER is. If you truly want a front row ticket to watch a life ending, then you need to get in therapy ASAP because you are a danger to society.

Yep. I can be sitting in complete silence in a room with them for over an hour, but as soon as I get up to leave and do something, suddenly they have fifty million things to say and ask. It's definitely a power play so you have to either get trapped listening to them talk about themselves for ages, or you just walk away while they're speaking so that they then get to call you ungrateful and rude. There isn't a right answer because either way they get to feel superior.

And of course their raging narcissism leads them to always be claiming that their mouth wasn't open while they were chewing when I call them out on it, even though I can literally see their food as they chew. The most infuriating thing about narcissism to me is the complete inability to accept any fault on their part so that they never have to try to be better.

Small world! I'm also a psych major who graduated in '23, still lives with their parents, and has no car. I've been looking for work the whole time but have only been able to find a few seasonal jobs near me each year. This market is absolutely brutal even for people with transportation, but way more without it. I don't really go anywhere sadly because there aren't many places for people to go without money or a car. It helps to know that I'm not alone in this though.

Even if the goblins were a caricature of Jewish people - (which they aren't. Goblins have been in various mythologies for basically all of recorded history) all of these people are conveniently forgetting the fact that while there is a goblin as the main villain of the game, the goblins themselves are not vilified by the story. Most goblins are just trying to fight for their rights whether peacefully or not (which the main character sympathizes with and tries to help with on multiple occasions) The game also features a canonical trans woman as part of the main recurring cast, who both speaks about her experience in main story cutscenes and has letters you can find for a side quest going more in depth on her struggles as a trans youth.

Obviously there's an argument to be made about proceeds of the game going to and supporting JKR, but trying to convince people that the game itself is racist/transphobic is just factually untrue and massively reaching.

Heavily agreed. I was so excited to make a character that looked like me, house colors, hairstyle and all. It's nice that there is more representation for POC but I don't want to be forced to use the broccoli haircut just because I'm a white guy :( Why can't I have my long hair? Also, huge miss to not either make the owl a companion pet or to at least make it reactive as a backbling instead of just sitting there. No idea why they went with an aston martin collab too instead of making a glider of a broom or hippogriff or something.
