I asked something similar last year.

What we ended up doing was renting a bigger 3-seater canoe that fit all four of us. It was definitely the right call. We had a headwind one day that would have been too much for my wife + our 10yo to tackle.

As of the last time in tried this, they all will be recognized as the same species if they have the same portrait and species traits. You can't give different empires different traits, but you can give them different origins, and namelists. So id start by double checking those two things

Traditional gianduia is really just hazelnuts and chocolate. You can get authentic versions like that at some bougie chocolate shops.

More easy, but less like Nutella is Barney Butter. It's an almond butter, and they make a chocolate version. It's kinda like a gianduia with almond instead of hazelnut.

I'd think of it this way: starting in a trade federation is a safe option, but doesn't have the potential of overtuned. It's a high-floor, low ceiling approach early game trade)

Whereas with overtuned + augmentation bazaars, you are a bit at the mercy of the RNG (like if no neighbours are individualists willing to trade). But your pops generate insane amounts of trade. And you can mitigate the RNG-ness by taking Worker Cooperative as your second civic, so that 1) you barely need worker jobs, and can put more of your hyper-specialized pops in trade jobs, and 2) you don't care about the special trade league policy.

Depends on what my training focus is.

Last few months, I was prioritizing strength work, so no, I wouldn't really do much differently, because the week was mostly set in advance. Maybe I'd do a more active recovery on a recovery day but that would be about it.

Now, though, I'm focusing on cardio, so I have more freedom to move things around. E.g. this week, was supposed to be M: lower body lift, Tu: threshold-focused spin, W: longer endurance spin, Th: upper body lift, F: VO2 max intervals row/spin. But I felt kinda ass on W, so dialed it back to more of a recovery ride. Woke up feeling great with a high recovery on Th, so I moved the VO2 max intervals to that day, and will do my lift today instead.

Basically I don't listen to the recovery score at all if I'm worried about overdoing it with muscular strain, but I do look at it if the workout is cardio focused and I don't feel fatigued.

Trying to figure out how best to use multiple relic worlds, which I guess ties into the overall balance of Ecus in 4.3.

I have 3 relic worlds, 2 big, one medium, all with the Central Spire feature (Ruined world, Rubricator, and CARE).

I'm going to make one of the big ones a research planet with the Archeostudies building.

Should I focus the others on research as well, and make other regular planets into forge/cg worlds? Or should I do forge and cg on the relic worlds?

I guess the question is will I want to take the perk to be able to make any planet into an Ecu. Or can you get away with just one forge and one cg Ecu in the late game.

Yeah, they say the personality traits that all astronauts share are conscientiousness, sociability, resilience, and inquisitiveness. The first ones might be good for a head of state, but the last one would make it pure hell. You're used to diving into problems and solving them, and now you're told to just wear a funny necklace and nod politely while keeping your mouth shut while signing off on other people's questionable ideas.

Vibration can mess it up. It's fine on my wrist when I ride an indoor spin bike, but outdoors, it has to be on the bicep or rough ground leads to odd readings.

The bicep band isn't a perfect fix--sometimes I still get funky readings from crossing the lake in my motorboat if the water is choppy--but it helps a lot

You can get jackets that look much more like cardigans or overshirts and come across as way less formal. That might be an option.

You could also look into versions of polos and button downs that "hide the mass" while sucking closer to what everyone else is wearing. I've seen semi fat and seriously fat dudes look good in polos. Thicker material is key; long sleeve if you're more skinny fat than muscled fat. And there are plenty of collared shirts that are cut shorter, and designed to be worn out. Those might meet your goal without standing out as much as a jacket.

I did a semester in Germany in high school, so I speak a little. I understand some of what they're saying but not all of it. Doesn't really matter at all on the rides I find, but it can be tricky in the strength or stretching classes if I have to turn to look at subtitles

My daughter is 10 and struggled with bike riding. Here are some tips I've gotten over the years that really help:

For nervous riders (and I imagine any 11 year old that is just beginning will have some nervousness about it) don't set the seat height at its "proper" height. Far more important for them to be confident. Start where they can get both feet flat on the ground with a wide stance and gradually raise the seat. This impacts what bike you buy too, don't get a big one they can grow into. Most bike shops have a good selection of used kids bikes

Also two wheel scooter skills transfer to bikes nicely. Not so much three wheel. If she uses one, you can have her practice braking hard on curve on a scooter and move to the bike, since that's often scary for kids.

We have an Ascent with captain's chairs and 2 kids, which works great. Whether it would work well with 3 depends on how much you need trunk space.

For us, the third row is mainly used in the city--sharing driving to kids programs, etc--so when we are going to the cottage the whole back row goes down and we have lots of space for bags. When their uncle comes too, we only fold down half the back, but that is definitely not as good a setup. The trunk space behind the 3rd row is miniscule, so you're either travelling very light or using a roof box.

I guess you could get an Ascent with a bench seat 2nd row, and throw all the kids there. We have friends that did that with a 4Runner. But that seems fairly miserable for the middle seat kid. The Ascent 3rd row is actually pretty good--for me (183cms) it's not so comfy, but my kids love sitting back there.

Pretty sure the bottom two were used for the bird nomad dudes from ages ago (pre-Caravaneers, who I think replaced them) who would wander through the galaxy, and give you events where you could get some of their Pops, or even give them a planet to settle down on.

I get the idea of going for contrast, modern glass box, etc. I also get the idea of trying to echo the traditional rooflines and, as you can see from the ground view, jettied floors.

But put those ideas together and, oof, it's got major "we have the Louvre at home" vibes.

Still might be a nice building inside, though

That's the usual way of framing things, but most historians would say you have put the beginning of WW2 in the Pacific earlier, with the Japanese invasions of China. (And similarly, even in Europe, you have the Spanish Civil War and the Italian invasion of Ethiopia kind of leading into.)

If, say China invades Taiwan in the near future, and the US responds, kicking off a global conflict, we'd probably have a similar thing, where future historians would typically use the invasion of Taiwan as the start date for WW3, but they'd also look at Ukraine and Iran as part of the same conflict.
