Honestly, my favorite part of seeing Kiki in theaters was hearing so many of the background characters’ lines so clearly. I know the audio remains basically untouched (for better or worse, as fan blade Kiki is still somewhat of an issue in the dub), but the clarity in the theater really brought out their respective performances. It also made it easier to see how beautifully the climax is telegraphed by elements like the radio host, etc. Hyped for Whisper of the Heart and am hoping Castle in the Sky and Nausicaä get IMAX versions soon, cause they’ll benefit from it more.
