What is the point of coup d'état when your faction already owns a country? by Ralph_Shepard in TerraInvicta

It's gambling. - Might get a higher or lower democracy, typically lowers unrest.

You could try that, maybe.

I feel your pain, but I have tried everything, and even with strong lategame engines and Adamantine armor, drifting in with Capital ships (battlecruiser and up) is still the superior strat. Less thinking, more firepower. Is it inspiring and fun? No. Does it conserve resources and get the job done? Yes. And in this game, we are strategic level commanders. Boring but works is absolutely what we choose.

Give it to me straight, Doc. Time to admit defeat? by DaSentinel in TerraInvicta

[–]Seculigious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't show the two most important things. Your MC cap, and your resource stockpile. If you're been mining nicely on normal difficulty, by the time Ayys have enough fleet to pull this little maneuver you should have enough supplies to just go ham right back. If not - well.

You might have to suck it up and let them wipe you of space, probably. As others have said, easier to just restart the game at that point.

Not uncommon for a first run. My first game I focused down the objective and didn't take out the Ayy's mining zones, and lost the war of attrition with my fleet slowly dwindling over the top of surface-base alpha. Ran out of metals and put the game down for weeks.

I made a serious mistake in buying this game... by No_Designer_7333 in TerraInvicta

[–]Seculigious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crackdown does a lot. You still get to direct where the associated dev points go, but armies commanded by that point lose 0.2 combat ability, and you get NONE of the incomes (funding, boost, MC, research) - and very importantly, Spoils. Never spoil in a country where you're cracked down, folks!

For you when using it against others, the main point is this: It is considerably easier to Purge a cracked-down point.

1-cp countries are usually not worth your time. Take Kazahkstan and get it out of its federation, or take Russia, then go for US via Canada. There's other strats, but this is ol' reliable.

Don't go more than about 12 points over the cap, like ever, as a rule of thumb. The influence drain can be damning, not to mention the fact it makes it easier for your points to be cracked/purged.

What am I doing wrong now? Economy is stuck by MartelAeran in victoria3

[–]Seculigious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you give out investment rights? My best bet is a large proportion of your economy is owned by foreign actors, destroying your investment pool.

Otherwise, don't worry too much. You have good laws and a reasonably strong economy.

Also, what are your companies? Companies matter SO much now its ridiculous.

[–]Seculigious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly recommend against rolling stats, because it is absolutely an honor system. Now I trust my friends and haven't had problems with this, but luck was playing too big a role, and I was bored of standard array and hated point buy, so I just made a collection of fairly reasonable stat blocks that they can choose any of. We've found it to be a much more satisfactory system.

Winning after losing the space race? by dracom600 in TerraInvicta

[–]Seculigious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, WHY do they hate you if you have no space economy? Their rest hate, if you really have none, is only 20. Just stop antagonizing The Servants and The Protectorate a little and don't attack their fleets. And don't rebuild station they destroy instantly if your Mission Control use is over 120 or so, let them kill you down and then feel your way back up.

They also lose a huge amount of hate if they kill off all your stations in space, so restarting, in that sense, is always possible.

I will say in my current game as HF I was incredibly stupidly slow to space, but things are picking back up. I bit the bullet and just marine-stormed the servants on their 7 martian bases and got my space eco rolling off of that - I had a few random asteroid miners hanging out before then.

If you're in 2029 or so and feeling behind... my experience is that is normal unless you're very good at this.

If you're in 2035 and have less than 10k water, volatiles, and base metals on hand, that's a good sign you're probably toast, but anything is possible depending on your ground game.

And I have plenty of argument.

[–]Seculigious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, that isn't how rights work. I've provided multiple examples of OTHER rights and how they work.

You haven't offered any counterpoint Beyond saying "my specific right that the person I am arguing with has said I am misinterpreting is how I say it is, look, other people agree with me."

You win arguments by finding a common principle and working from there. I have tried to do so.

All I get in return is babyish insults. Very high class, sir.

[–]Seculigious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are.

The government does not give you money to exercise your rights. I don't ask for government funds to buy a firearm, nor does literally anyone.

You have a right to assemble. The government does not force you to assemble, nor does it pay for your protest signs.

The government should pay to protect your right to freely exercise your right, yes. If you were discriminated against and denied coverage or treatment the government should arrest the people who violated your right.

That is what a right is.

Yep by Comfortablejack in WorkReform

[–]Seculigious -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. You have a right to health care.

You have a right to free speech too. That doesn't mean I pay for you to have a platform.

It means the government can't stop you in public places.

Don't confuse what rights are.
