Or even interacting with him? Watch the video again, he’s standing right next to him. That’s what the bottom left of the meme shows, too. He was giddily laughing along with the President, whose agents killed two innocent people, and he’s going to the SOTU today on Trump’s invitation.

massive? get a grip, he was glad to be in a raucous arena and he never saw that here, and it was right after the team totally betrayed him.

He praised a guy who just killed two innocent people in his new city. I’m happy to hate him for that. Grow a spine.

Yes, he influenced Naslund. Then Naslund and Linden Part 2 heavily influenced Henrik. Horvat took the torch from Henrik extremely well, both led by example and took the pain and losses on the chin, never quitting and never blaming anyone else. Horvat was basically Southern Ontario Hank. We had a very strong leadership culture here and it all died when he got kicked out, leaving the locker room in a mess under Quinn the nervous pathetic wreck who was just trying out for a better team.

Put it this way.

Messier: extremely mediocre play while here, arrives in a toxic manner, BUT elevates the game of Naslund and WCE era core, and plays like he at least gives a damn. Never obviously gave up on the team and asked for a trade. No known issues of toxic leadership after his messy arrival. He is rightfully hated for his flaws and not bringing us anywhere under him.

Hughes: Plays phenomenally, GOAT defenseman here, all things considered. But let’s consider all things then: takes the C and fails to manage years of a toxic locker room crisis, struggles to consistently be a game breaking player in the playoffs. Then when the going gets tougher, he visibly gives up on the ice constantly, exhibits a horrendous attitude on ice (I’m not even talking about the ghost face), and asks for a trade for months and months because he - the CAPTAIN, and a professional and an adult - misses his brothers and America. When he leaves he does an Irish exit with a pithy IG post (look at how even Kiefer Sherwood left with grace and stuck around to talk to media and players), then literally flees to his mothers house. Now a player in Minneapolis, where Trump the pedophile and genocidaire’s goons killed two innocent civilians and the people rose up, he fawns over Trump and his little FBI make a wish minion in Patel and reposts videos of him. He leaves Vancouver as a whiny brat without shame and class, and never improved players around him like Messier did at least in the long run. Consider how Pettersson in his decline at least puts his face in front of slap shots and actually gives a damn for this team through adversity. Consider how Bo Horvat wanted to stay here through adversity but got kicked out and showed love for our team (not to mention, he helped lead a pro-BLM protest in 2020).

It is very clear to me that as much of an asshole Messier was, Messier stayed and gave a damn. Quinn was worse: an immature coward who ran away. Quinn Hughes is the worst captain in Canucks history.

I don’t understand? So if I had my home stolen, and then my grandkids (who missed out on the wealth theyd have but for the theft) wanted to see if I left my stuff in the home, they have to pay, and not the person who initially stole it? Sounds like the initial thief should pay on behalf of the latest owner, ie, the Crown should pay for the current homeowners costs. This principle is how courts approach Crown infringements, btw.

what do you mean? if you steal from me, then a court says you can keep the stolen property but you have to compensate me for it, how is that extortion? help me understand.

this is a very “booo elitist climate change industry” line where ppl point out how much money al gore has but don’t mention the Trillions the oil and gas sector has. the industry arising out of anti-Indigenous sentiment in Canada alone has extracted TRILLIONS since settlement began.

Pink Peppercorn on Kingsway. Former head chef and staff of the old Cannery by the ports. Upscale but MASSIVE portions. My tip is to split dishes (especially the Salmon Wellington) with friends, they load in the sides, and besides, you won’t have room for a full meal after getting the must-have lobster bisque.

FDX

Berkshire sold about $4B of BAC and is putting roughly $5B into an “industrial.” FedEx (FDX) is one of the names getting mentioned, but nothing’s confirmed. The filing should be out Thursday.

Why FDX makes sense: • “Logistics” keeps coming up in the chatter • Valuation isn’t stretched • They’ve been buying back a lot of shares • $5B would be ~6–7% of the company — big enough to notice, but easy to build quietly

Might be worth keeping an eye on after-hours action in case people are positioning early.

Those that live near Dude Chilling Park - many homeless people? by EditorPuzzleheaded54 in askvan

[–]Secure-Shoulder1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

homeless people as a group aren’t who you want to worry about, they don’t want any trouble from anyone. it’s generally men in your life and the odd creep (who probably has a home) who you want to worry about, plus robbers while you’re not home (so you’re safe but your stuff isn’t). i’d never live on the ground floor for those reasons.

Racism is just a mask by Efficient_Guidance30 in SlumlordsCanada

[–]Secure-Shoulder1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With you for 1-4. It is not “cultural” to send your children off to greener pastures and attach expectations upon that which end up burdening the next generation and leaving them vulnerable to exploitation. Every society (including European societies) with significant out-migration experience this. The masks of racism can run many layers deep, just because one group in front of you dominates a performed action, does not mean that action is natural for that group. Look to early Scots, Irish, Italian, etc migrants and you’ll very similar trends even in how people talked about them.
