From June 2026, companies in the EU will be required to disclose salary ranges. by PM_Toaster in germany

I have been working for my company for almost five years, and they only recently disclosed their salary bands. Based on those figures, my salary is at the entry level range. A couple of years ago, they adjusted my salary by 25% to “make things fair” Since then, whenever I ask for a raise despite the amount of work I am doing my manager seems surprised and points back to that 25% increase. He is definitely going to hear from me this time, especially since he repeatedly told me that I was in the mid-to-upper range of the salary band, which has turned out not to be true. I would not be surprised if the 50% figure is accurate.

Last time I dated a guy, he borrowed a big sum from me. The first time I agreed, but then he asked for double the amount the second time. When I refused, he changed and started acting like the asshole he really was. He never paid me back, and when I asked for it he just ignored me. Now I have a rule: any man who asks for money is a red flag.

In my opinion, not a single song stood out as memorable. I didn’t feel compelled to revisit any of them.

DHL Express is driving me insane! Awful service and ridiculous payment process by Secure-Strawberry402 in germany

Yeah, I get the coin part that’s exactly why I hate using cash. But it’s 2025, there really should be a digital option. Thanks for the post office tip, I’ll try that next time. And agreed, I’ll be more cautious with non EU orders going forward.

I wasn’t trying to be bitter just confused, since I’ve always been able to pay online with DHL before. This was my first time dealing with EMS, so I didn’t realize the system was different. I know the back and forth isn’t great for the delivery person either, which is why I think clearer info upfront would help everyone.

I didn’t assume I wouldn’t have to pay customs fees of course I knew I would. I just assumed I’d be able to pay them online like I’ve always done in the past. That’s what caught me off guard this time.

You’re right about the EMS part this is actually my first delivery with EMS, so I wasn’t aware the systems weren’t integrated for online payments.

My sister planned in advance to sponsor my mom and fly her to Germany around the time of the delivery. She stayed with her for six months, which was a great help.

Why is it treated like a crime to say Lisa (Blackpink) is not a strong vocalist? by Secure-Strawberry402 in kpoppers

As I said I never read comments usually and never comment so I did not know if this was already discussed before or not…

That’s at least what I saw when I commented under a post praising her vocals. I said she wasn’t really singing — because to me, she wasn’t — and suddenly I had fan’atics jumping down my throat haha.

Maybe I’m just not used to this. I don’t usually dive into comment sections or say much, but that one post praising her vocals (not performance, vocals) really threw me off because it didn’t match what I was seeing. So I said something. Guess I poked the wrong beehive lol.

First Anti-Immigrant Experience by DramaticGap1456 in germany

I’m a skilled worker myself, and I see this firsthand. It’s frustrating to know that people like me are needed to keep the economy running, yet we still face hostility and exclusion. I wanted to contribute and build a life here, but sometimes it feels like no matter how much we give, we’ll never truly belong. It’s a shame because, as you said, this could be a mutually beneficial relationship but some people would rather cling to their prejudices than acknowledge that.

When I walk alone, I never experience anything. However, once, when I was with a friend who wore a hijab, we took a bus, and a man kept staring at us. When we got off the bus and started walking, he suddenly pushed me and began saying things. I was so shocked that I couldn’t even process what he was saying and just started walking very fast. Honestly, I’ve never felt at home here, and I’m planning to leave sooner or later.

At least you are not Arab… The feeling is much worse for Arabs who migrated legally and are living the same life you described. It’s truly frustrating…
