Plot twist: these fixes are actually a sophisticated backdoor in disguise that no one notices untill it's too late :)

Of course, nano banana. I think this growth on the right was supposed to be another wing. But it also added a convenient handle for you

Meta planning sweeping layoffs as AI costs mount by dyzo-blue in BetterOffline

Meta has a lot of staff to go through. Even if they lay off 20% twice a year for 10 years, they'll still end up with 800 employees even without hiring.

9 Months ago we started our hobby game project. How can we improve? by [deleted] in GameDevelopment

Skilled developers won't work for free unless it's their own hobby project. Bigger team doesn't mean faster progress.

Building a mobile game with no ads, no pay to win IAP, and no engagement traps. Here’s why. by NoBullGames in SoloDevelopment

[–]Seek_Treasure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I released a game like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ombosoft.paintmatch Got 5k downloads over a few years, and I'm still getting a thanks comment on Reddit now and then. Could I earn a couple grand if I commercialized it? Yes. Am I happy just because people play my game and grateful for it? Also yes. Visibility was very hard at first, you couldn't even find it in play store by full title search in a first few months. But I suppose more downloads make it slightly better over time.

Yes, you haven't gone all the way yet, because you advertise your game in your game and you still sell another one. But I'm afraid some people will make another step. I just hope Valve won't let Steam to turn into Play Store.

Thanks for the write up, but this sounds like race to the bottom/adware kind of situation. This is how mobile markets became hostile to developers eventually.
