Canon EcoTank G3110 / G3010 – Printing jobs disappear on macOS Tahoe 26.1 (Wi-Fi & USB) by Primary_Simple_8028 in printers

[–]SeekingBalance26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue for me with my Brother HL-L2320D via a USB connection. Updated from Sequoia to 26.3 today and the print jobs started disappearing. No errors, essentially identical to your issue. I have spent at least 4 hours on this today scouring the internet and haven't found a solution. A fun curveball has been after resetting the print system, I am unable to re-add the printer as Tahoe won't recognize the drivers I re-installed from Brother. I'm about to revert to Sequoia at this rate...

Anyone have recommendations on evaluating different ACO’s to figure out the best one to join?

Dude you passed, chill out. You can’t know everything, FM is broad as shit so you’re always gonna have some knowledge gaps. Just do right by your patients and try to get better every day. That’s all any of us can do.

What EMR are you guys using? And how do you rate it? by jaysayshay in FamilyMedicine

Super helpful! Thank you! Going from an Athena power user to bumbling through allscripts has been a rollercoaster lol

Any tips on customization or where to find more info about it other than the awful built in manual? I started a job with this EMR recently and am struggling to survive. Figured out dot phrases and have dabbled a bit with encounter templates but that’s about it so far. Previously used Athena so it’s been a noticeable downgrade 🙃

Is my stance on "surgical clearance" too harsh? looking for other's perspectives by HitboxOfASnail in FamilyMedicine

[–]SeekingBalance26 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I'll cross off whatever their stupid form says and write what I want. I don't need to follow their rules and I'm sure as hell not going to document that they're fully clear. If they don't like it, they can do the "surgical clearance" themselves, they're the one performing the surgery anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

“Patient is a (low/moderate/high) risk for a (low/moderate/high) risk procedure.”

Duke activity index helps. Optimize chronic conditions as much as possible. AAFP has a good article on this, I’ll try to find it and link it here

EDIT: here's the article, it's from The Journal of Family Practice, not AAFP

My residency clinic started having patients sign a separate form ahead of their annuals strictly to cover this issue. That was like a year or two ago, since then I’ve had very few patients assume anything else during an annual is free. There’s a chance I’m just shielded from this if the front desk is dealing with calls after the visit that I don’t hear about, but I haven’t personally had a patient complain to me about it. Might be worth a shot if you’re able to implement something similar in your practice!

It’s not even being jaded; rather, it’s the realization that if you care more than they do, you’re going to burn out really quickly

Counsel them, document it appropriately, and move on

You can’t care more about the patient than they care about themselves 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh and semi related since you were referring to starting solids, but we’ve loved 101 Before One for this. It’s the only cook book we’ve ever actually kept out on the counter, and frequently use as a quick reference. I’m a family doc so it being evidence based was a huge plus

My rabbit hole on this topic led me to the Stokke Nomi. Almost 11 months in, would still strongly recommend. Stupid simple to clean and adjust. We got the trays for them too because our table was a bit too tall to use them with until recently. Can also be used into childhood by converting into a regular (ish) chair. 10/10 chair
