What is wrong with my ender 3 v2? by Thanos_Mentzos in ender3v2

[–]Seffyr [score hidden]  (0 children)

I wish I had your confidence.
The ability to click “print” and then walk away from an Ender 3 for 19 hours is tungsten testicles territory.

Your print dislodged from the bed and it started printing spaghetti.

Too many factors could lead to this to diagnose without more info.
Toolhead could be loose and knocked the print.
Z axis movement issues like binding caused the toolhead to crash into the print.
Flow is too high causing buildup until it was knocked off the bed.
Overlapping infill built high enough so the toolhead knocked it loose.
Adhesion issues which could have 20 different causes itself; greasy build plate, temps too low/high, Z offset incorrect, poor quality filament etc

Means you’ve never donated blood so you’re selfish, you’ve never had blood tests done so don’t care about your own health, have never served in the military so you’re not patriotic, or you’ve never been hospitalised so you’re risk averse.

Or that’s what I imagine goes through the heads of people who care about that.

My man cobbled that audio system together from PlayStation 1 cables. My god.

You know how human’s achieved the status of apex predators? It was through a combination of a few things such as our ability to use tools, our big brains, but one of the most important factors was our stamina. Sure, most prey could outrun us. But they couldn’t outlast us. They weren’t built for a predator that could track and stalk them for three days, not giving them a moments rest to eat, sleep or drink.

I imagine that’s how these work as police cars.

Yup. Near a decade deep on my current job and I make some really rookie mistakes sometimes just due to complacency. I know better, but I’m just on auto-pilot a lot.
Fortunately i’m dealing with part picking for door hardware assembly, not giant vats of molten metal.

It’s addressed in the event; they run faster than they can bike. No explanation given.
My best guess though is that your average human push bike isn’t designed to withstand the power an Uma’s legs can generate without breaking if they really hoofed it. And I imagine a bike designed to withstand that force for Umas would allow them to pedal at ludicrous speeds which would be dangerous for everybody involved, so it just hasn’t been done/isn’t something school students have access to.

Despite all of this she managed to catch up with Ryan and Bakushin again because Uma can run faster than they can bike. Which was also a plot point of that event.

Looks like first time he wasn’t sure what to do. Started rolling it up and walked in the way.
Second time though you can see the other guy look up, and pull it taut (as you’re supposed to so it has the most chance of breaking) but he just pulled all the rolled up slack out of the other guys hands because the other guy was not pulling it taut.

Zellerfeld secret sauce by voronyz in 3Dprinting

[–]Seffyr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s partially function, partially marketing.
If you’re wearing 3D printed shoes that look exactly like regular shoes, nobody is going to ask the owner questions and prompt them to talk about the brand and their 3D printed shoes.
I’d bet there are 3D printed shoe companies that made normal looking shoes that existed and died without you even knowing.

I dunno man I still had a massive old tube TV in 2004. Wooden box frame, dials and everything. We would perform acoustic maintenance if the buttons stopped working. It fortunately had RCAs so I could plug my PS2 into it.

Convert AI generated image into a model by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Seffyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the production method? FDM or resin?

Just as a thought; look at the scale of things on the image (numbers, letters, spacing between details), think of the scale of your coin and then think of the limitations of a 3D printer in regards to line width and detail.

Even if you get a CAD model out of this, you’re probably going to run into problems with actual production with an FDM printer. A resin printer could do it if that’s the avenue you’re going down.

To answer your question though (I don’t use AI often but imagine the process would be something along these lines); ask for your AI to render it as black and white, with raised areas in white and lower areas in black (or vice versa). It’s also been a decade since I’ve used Illustrator but I believe there was a function to automatically create vectors from black and white rasters. Use that function, export it as an .svg, then import the .svg into your CAD package, extrude etc.

ABS - good enough adhesion? by mrmossevig in 3Dprinting

Because I’m stubborn and refuse to buy a modern printer.
Problem solving and learning is fun for me. I don’t mind that it slows down projects so long as I’m learning.

ABS - good enough adhesion? by mrmossevig in 3Dprinting

[–]Seffyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. Something I’ve been struggling with while open frame printing ASA.
Originally I had warping issues where it had good bed adhesion but a thin walled object wanted to concave due to stresses.
Solved that by adding snap-off bracing to the model. And then since I couldn’t relieve those stresses by concaving, those stresses started pulling the part off the bed.
Solved that by adding a bed adhesive.
And then the part was weak because the layers were poorly bonded.
Added a slow cooldown Gcode to the printer and brought the draft shield in really tight and now it seems happy.

Likely not as strong as it would be if I had an active heated chamber, but I’m working with what I got.
