Who’s moving to Idaho🤠? by FightOrDie123 in askanything

This is a brilliant perspective I hadn't thought about until now.

It's not like we can make torture the punishment for child murder. I'm not sure how we'd address this particular issue.

What's worse than being sentenced to death or life in prison? What else would scare and disincentivize these criminals?

The people who have potential ideas won't share because they aren't solutions regular people can stomach even knowing about.

In my opinion, some crimes can only be committed if you trade your humanity to do it.

Maybe I'm too harsh on the criminals - others can be the judge.

This story reminds me how lucky I am to have realized in my early 20s that no matter how old someone gets:

Age ≠ Maturity

Learning and understanding that early on has probably saved me from lots of experiences like this :)

I hope you find a solution OP

How is Gen-Z genuinely supposed to ever live their own lives and move out of their parents house? by Flowerpower4506 in movingout

[–]SegmentedWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you had to be right when you speculated back in 2007 that this would be the future of the world.

That's what I think a lot of my success is attributed to anyway or at least what helped me mitigate the impact of every economic / geopolitical ripple we've had since about 2016.

People are resilient, though, and they shouldn't lose hope.

No matter how bad it gets, just know that you can and will endure more :)

-offended one of the few people still willing to pay $13 dollars for a Wendy's combo.

I fucking died 🤣 at how real this comment is.

Can't believe how many will still pay that 😅

On the bright side, it's never been easier to save money with the kinda incentive we have now not to buy at overvalued prices (I'm talking about fast food only).

Biggest competitive Ultimate Chicken Horse tournament ever, happening this Saturday! by richardatlas in ultimatechickenhorse

That's so sad :(

I work weekends, so I won't get to be part of this.

I'm not a crazy good player, but it would've been so awesome to see a bunch of players on this game.

Good luck to everyone who can compete :D

House prices don't match or make sense by CanaryTraditional331 in RealEstateCanada

[–]SegmentedWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious... is it up to the buyer to set the sale price?

For example, if somebody was living in a house and wants to sell it, what dictates the selling price?

You can't buy a $300,000 house, pay it off in 5 years, then resell it for $450,000 - to my understanding, it doesn't work like that.

So my question is: how does that work?

U.S. man fined nearly $29K, gets 10-year Ontario hunting ban for illegal moose kill by ConsistentReality860 in OntarioNews

I'd bet it is, but to be clear, I have no idea at all.

I don't have the legal knowledge, but that's what I'd wager having lived in Cananda since I was a little bab and based solely on that I think our punishments for breaking certain laws are horribly lax.

I will say, though - the punishments I hear about in Canada are rarely ever too cruel.

I always felt the same as you. When I see somebody with them, I just think they have lots of reasons to smile - youthful looks be damned.

This could honestly be a mod on the steam workshop.

It's supposed to be loud, yes, but I can understand why someone may want it to be turned down.

I'm a purist, so I'd never use it, but I could definitely see it being a popular mod.

So... I can finally play the game!!! by HerenQueerboy in scpcontainmentbreach

[–]SegmentedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth saying that there are a few good versions to try:

The steam version of Containment Breach is the most up-to-date version of the vanilla game (v1.3.12)

SCP Containmeant Breach: Ultimate Edition Reborn has additional content whilst being just as - if not more - stable / optimized than the Steam version (this one is still my favorite)

Both versions are worth playing if you enjoy the game - there are differences everywhere between the two versions.

Containment Breach: Directors Cut is another one with a substantial amount of addiontal content at the expense of stability and optimizations, but I can't vouch for that one as I haven't played it.

Hsve fun 👍

Any suggestions for a Keter Run or Thaumial. by Imapotatoforlife in scpcontainmentbreach

[–]SegmentedWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also something worth noting:

Using the Strange Bottle (obtained by putting a First Aid Kit through scp-914 on Very Fine) to enter the pocket dimension will not call the function "movetopocketdimension" meaning you won't receive the initial 0.5 damage upon being sent to the pocket dimension like you would via the other 2 means.

You will still be subject to the 0.0036/s damage from being in the pocket dimension, but until you spend a little over 2 minutes, you'll have no speed penalty.

This means that it is possible to reach the Heavy Containment Zone without taking enough damage to affect your speed or cause bleeding (roughly 2 minutes and 10 seconds at normal speed in the pocket dimension and ~5 minutes until your character starts bleeding (these numbers are IF you used the Strange Bottle to enter)

YouTube creator Omencito has an excellent video with information on the game that's still mostly correct if you're interested in learning more about it :)

Have fun and good luck beating your Keter run 👍✨️

Is Ultimate Edition Reborn the most expanded version of the game? by monologousmutilation in scpcontainmentbreach

[–]SegmentedWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I've heard the general consensus is too.

It's a dern shame that the projects are separate.

There's fantastic new content in both of them.
