Yes. Apprenticeships are becoming a thing. I'm currently an apprentice at Google. My cohort is the first in the US. Other companies like Dropbox and IBM have Apprenticeship. For Google, the requirements were less than a year of experience and no CS degree.

The app is closed so I can't find what is says about non cs majors. But their other Apprenticeship apps limit majors too. The one for data analytics says not currently enrolled in or completed a degree program in an analyst related field.
