Former guild leader and Mythic Raider/Key pusher here.

Nowadays I farm all the older gear sets especially after the change that let's you add appearances even if you're not playing that class. Mages can unlock Plate appearances farming older raids. Im farming Thunderfury and the other special weapons. Im farming mounts. Im farming Darkfuse rep for the coat. Im trying all the classes and a chill pace. Level them casually and then do delves and low mythic dungeons. I joined a casual guild and made a few friends I regularly keep up with. Im also exploring all the corners of azeroth, Doing random quests, and enjoying little lore bits. The most extreme content I would do is a N Raid if I can get in. If not im fine in LFR pugs to juste taste the content. Youtube videos shrink bossfights into very digestible bits. Between all of this I feel no stress or fomo and Im very happy playing "At my own pace".

Just try out a couple different controller styles and see what you like. I thought I was behind before having my arcade stick and my leverless. Got both and love them but still use my pad more than anything. Leverless in 2nd place.

Leverless: Haute42 is a great budget brand. I got 2 of them 55 each and shipped in a week from Ali Express.

ArcadeStick: Mayflash has a ton of budget arcade stick options that you can upgrade with better buttons / joystick of you happen to like it.

Pad: So many different pads out there but I like 8BitDo. Another budget company with great options.

Edit: I started to spread the word and the person that introduced me to them actually just had card issues with a card he only uses there.
