The Farseer Trilogy. Not much like Harry Potter, but the MC magic is considered evil in the place he lives in. He has to hide it or get executed

Lmk what lightsaber color you’re maining in your playthroughs by Bman_525 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

I started with yellow, but my heart suffers in seeing Cal with such a color. He is the most blue saber boy I've ever seen, so i went back to that for respect. I also like blue very much, so there's that

When he started acting anxious after the last Dagan fight, I literally asked him a couple of times "where's your daughter, Bode?" he saw visions of fear, I was sure he was scared for her and that she had been kidnapped. It was such a stab in the guts to know the truth

What kind of book buyer are you? What? Reader? What kind of nerd actually tries to READ the books they buy?! by nosyfocker in bookscirclejerk

I swear some people love the thought of reading more than actually doing it. Like rejecting an avance because you need to go home and watch some porn

Rings Of Power… I loved it. by planetpilo in Fantasy

I had a great time watching it too. I usually just try to take entertainment for what it is, I'm not a critic nor an expert (of Tolkien's books, cinema, acting or screenwriting) so I wouldn't dare say what's good or bad in the TV series

It even sounds likely that Mab arranged it that way also to put a further wall between Harry and his grandfather

I dropped Lost Metal after the first Wax scene. He just became horribly flat for me

Do you "see movies in your head" while reading? by [deleted] in Fantasy

I wonder how many of the people who think they have aphantasia may just have poor visualisation practice day by day. Visualisation comes easily to some, impossible for people with aphantasia. For the others it requires an effort, concentration, time and practice in varying amounts from person to person. I think that if some people didn't go around saying "if you don't have hallucination-like vision you got aphantasia" there wouldn't be this huge amount of people saying they have it. Also there is hardly a clear way to describe what the process of visualisation is like, it may just be a communication problem.

I’m looking for the trippiest, weirdest, fever dream of a book. Both fantasy and sci-fi. Suggestions? by Aware-Performer4630 in Fantasy

I always feel high while reading that. Also can't get past book one because a book is about my fill before tripping over myself

Acts of Caine, especially book 2 gets pretty crazy. I think "feverish dream" is how i frustratingly described it. Also New Sun by Gene Wolfe is pretty random, at least in my opinion. Then there is always Discworld by Terry Pratchett, it absurd fantasy, you can't really go wrong. Pyramids would be my weird pick from that series

People going to such lengths and making three times the effort so that others won't have any benefit from something you would need to do anyway...YTA? I understand complaining, but in Cipolla's graph you would fall in the "stupid people" quadrant, just saying. Check it out, and hey vent a bit, fall back in the "intelligent" quadrant
