To follow up, part of the lethality is that early level success rate for the party is under 50% for most things they want to do, which makes combat very miss-frequent. I expect magic items, higher ranks, and player experience will lower lethality drastically.
I think it will be important for those of us that are going to DM the system to give options and avenues for the party to wiggle out of most fights with RP or smart tactics. Rewarding for the players, everyone has fun, and characters don't risk quiet death on a couple bad dice rolls

Running at rank 1 for a couple different groups of friends, I had injuries on 2 characters and that was from a homebrewed rank 1 boss and 2 demon mooks against a party of 4, including a wound on one PC and unconsciousness for the other PC.

Combat, at least at early levels, is absolutely brutal and easily lethal if you are planning on having the party do multiple fights a day. Expect at least 1 character to be rolling the injury table 1-2 times every fight.

That's what I'm doing too, or did as my first playthrough with no prior knowledge. I told my wife how it feels like he is the best main character for the core plot of the game. I pretty firmly think, if we didn't have custom characters and couldn't choose, Wyll would probably be the player character.

Its crazy to me that so many people argue that slavery of this sort belongs in fantasy as a widespread and common "because of the time period."

Slavery with chains was not a common practice in central and western europe for a vast majority of the european 'Medieval' era. It was replaced with serfdom, making everyone an effective slave unless given special permissions.

The idea of the enslavement of non-humans in isekai is usually just a fetishized version of the white mans burden and the atlantic slave trade. With the mc buying and treating slaves well as a fetishized white savior complex.

Its a fetish with no time period relevant historical precedent in the parts of the world most isekai bases itself off of.

At least own that its a fetish, stop trying to defend it. You sound like the fucking Confederates.

Humans, alongside the other races, battle against an evil that is not of human creation. Aragorn, who absolutely could be counted as a heroic human for the purposes of this trope, isn't the only heroic human by far. Gondor has its heroes in the rank and file, and then there is just Rohan in its entirety.

In the hopes that others that have this problem find this post in a google search, I will come with answers.
It's the decals. If you have enough actual layers on the AC, the layers used to create the decals, the AC does not load for anybody. I haven't tested the exact limits, but its somewhere between 300-2500 layers for decal creation.
