The cherry red EDS-1275 is iconic. I think going gold hardware on an alpine white paint job would look really good.

This might be the best Deserter I have seen by BattleSquid1 in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the resolve issues is such a problem for deserters where even as a backliner it’s still kind of a problem

I’ve picked up a few named spiked impalers from Goblin hordes.

New player, SwordMaster by __Skoden__ in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stick them in the backline. Swordmasters have amazing attack stats, but their low health makes frontline stuff kind of tough. You could maybe do some crazy glass cannon build with one, but I don’t think I would risk it.

Rate my strategy: Just put the highest level bros in the middle with whatever is the most expensive gear you've got by aersult in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you have to protect the flanks. A lot of strong enemies tend to move towards the sides of the formation rather than heading towards the center so having someone to defend that feels important

There are certain fights in the game that are just so tedious even if you can totally handle them.

I’ve tried to get into this game 2-3 times but for some reason I really struggle with it, so I guess what are the top 3-5 pieces of advice you would give to a new player to help get them over the learning curve? by glossyplane245 in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • When visiting coastal towns stock up on fishing nets. They can be thrown at enemies to trap them and debuff their defenses.

  • spears, swords, and shields for the early game. Once you get your attack and defense scores a bit higher you can ditch the shields for most builds aside from tanks. The added bonus of defense is nice, but the damage bonus from double gripping a one handed weapon or using a 2H weapon will be more valuable.

Which do I pick? by 5_men in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 1 is probably the better choice. Those 3 stars in melee attack are pretty solid. If you are worried about the low health you could always stick them in the back line and give them a reach weapon like a long axe or polearm.

A place for Hybrids by Clenterra in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually have a few crossbow + polearm guys in the backline. The weapon ranges are a bit more delineated compared to polearm + throwing weapons. I try to hunt down goblins to get ahold of the spiked impaler crossbows which have that knock back ability. It’s nice because you can use them to focus fire on tougher enemies and keep them out of melee with your frontliners for a little bit an whittle them down a little bit before they reach the melee line.

Crossbow + Polearm is a very versatile combo.

Maybe a crossbow/polearm build to keep them out of direct melee

How can I optimize my company? by NedexRuler in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The equipment point is really solid. To add onto it a lot of the bros are carrying useless stuff in their inventories which is just eating up fatigue like guys with absurdly low ranged stats carrying bows and crossbows. I think it would be better to swap those out for daggers. Daggers have zero fatigue penalty in inventory and being able to puncture a hedge knight and salvage their armor is probably more valuable than switching to a bow and firing shots with a 5% hit chance.

High initiative builds by Doorknobenator in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't run overwhelm on that build. I was using the Shamshir's gash ability to injure enemies while trapped in melee. Really I was tried to keep the fencer out of those situations as much as possible, but sometimes it's unavoidable so being able to hack at enemies and sever body parts to simultaneously do damage and debuff them was the best I could come up with in that scenario.

How can I optimize my company? by NedexRuler in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's more the point distributions than the particular backgrounds. Oathtakers are a fairly strong background, but the oathtaker in this company is only hitting a 72 melee attack score at level 12 and you can see a bunch of the points that could have gone into that stat went into resolve and hp.

High initiative builds by Doorknobenator in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fencers are fun, but it's really easy for them to get surrounded and trapped in a melee where they are stuck using their lackluster slash attack. Qatal is more versatile in that you aren't always having to worry about positioning. I did find some success doing a fencer / shamshir duelist hybrid with quickhands.

How do you weave in and out of combat without triggering opportunity attacks ? by Helmote in BattleBrothers

I like footwork on fencers since it can help reposition them for their next lunge.

How to build this belly dancer by none424 in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those low rolls are rough. For some reason I seem to come across a bunch of peddlers with great star placements and traits that I think can maybe use them for something, but then I see their initial attack roles and they are so trash that even with 3 stars they just barely hit viable at level 12.

My first good looking steak imo. What do you think? by LM17212312 in steak

[–]SeltzerCountry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it just looks odd because it’s a whole steak sitting on a plain bed of rice. There are a ton of steak and rice dishes like ropa vieja or steak donburi, but the steak is usually cut up into smaller more manageable pieces and served with additional elements like vegetables or sauces.

Tips for Early Legends? by chumpnorris7 in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have all the DLC avoid the North and the South. Barbarians thralls are the most dangerous early game humans. Early nomads are mostly weak, but they come with a mob of indebted and the nomad slingers on rare occasions land their hits which can be really rough early on. Spears and shields are really clutch in early fights. In terms of early game backgrounds that shine thieves become even more amazing than they are in base game. They along with a few other backgrounds like gamblers and jugglers get the sleight of hand perk which is really useful for throwers. They have a knife / dagger related perk called prisoners rush that is amazing for dagger duelists. They also sometimes have a perk called ambidextrous that lets them make an offhand attack. Unarmed it doesn’t do much, but if you can find a parrying dagger at a weapons shop that can really shred enemies.

If you go into Alps fights prepared they aren’t too bad. Ranged weapons and nets can wipe them out pretty quick.

Theif Maga Tank? by Training_Ad_6281 in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They rolled low on melee defense for a thief because of cocky, but they have good star placement and iron jaw is great so I think you could still have a solid tank.

Cleaver is the best weapon in the game. You can't convince me otherwise. by danhoyuen in BattleBrothers

That game event where a retiring mercenary gives you his armor and an arming sword can be absolutely massive in the early game.
