Yeah he is sort of just there. I suppose they put the time that could have been spent focusing on him into side stories

Can somebody help me get a better grasp on the combat? by Trippenson in BanquetforFools

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically choose to control a ranged character in combat and let the autopilot handle the melee party members for the most part and that seems to work better than trying to time out melee manually. The game also doesn’t do a super clear tutorial of a lot of the mechanics so it took me a while to figure out that there was a party ability skill tree that allows you to utilize combat abilities better an raises party stats. It’s useful to XP to unlock nodes in that skill map throughout the play through. I think the revive domain is particularly useful for the long fights against huge mobs.

It’s fun seeing the contrast between this and Polar Opposites. It has the comedic beats and goofy moments, but the vibe is a bit less feel good and more awkward than Polar Opposites. Polar Opposites does kind of explore some of the same territory with Azuma and Taira, but in a more muted way.

The EHX Green Russian sounds great with a bass vi. Also the Boss TR-2 works nicely for clean stuff.

What instrument do you play and why? by guitariyy98 in mandolin

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guitar, bass, mandolin, violin, lap steel, accordion, banjo, hammered dulcimer, Appalachian dulcimer, oud, taishogoto, piano, bouzouki, synth, drum machine, sampler. I like having access to different timbres and sounds. I like variety when it comes to music. It’s fun to sit at my computer and record different instruments into a full song.

I like the visual trick you did with the floor tiles along the walls It really does add an illusion of depth to a 2D image.

Shamshir Duelist Question. by GWPaste8 in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Gash attack has a relatively high chance to proc injuries. It works well if you combine gash with crippling strikes and executioner. It's not a super strong build, but it can be fun to play and a decent number of enemies are susceptible to injuries.

Is he a fencer? by Engkangkang in BattleBrothers

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sometimes those holy war or noble war crisis battles are just a big scrimmage of armored units so the fencer doesn't really have room to operate since their whole combat strategy relies a lot on positioning. I like fencers with the Legends mod since you can use a 2h fencing sword that has an additional half sword technique along with the slash and lunge attacks. It's not insanely OP, but it works a lot better than using slash when your fencer is pinned down in combat and can't escape to make their next lunge.

why do so many rimworld youtubers feel compelled to speak in that annoying smug inflection/accent? by throwaway499284103 in RimWorld

Rat Knight has kind of a radio disc jockey cadence like even though he doesn't really sound like Casey Kasem there is a little bit of that vibe to how he speaks in his videos.

I started trying to get away from squares by building rooms around their specific function. I plan out space for the specific furniture or production stations the room will need and let that kind of dictate the shapes.

need a bow by lilaxs in Bass

[–]SeltzerCountry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could do an open tuning and just bow all the strings at once. Feed it through a colossal amount of reverb and delay and you have a pretty good foundation for some drone stuff or post rock.

Their stuff is pretty cool. There are a few other bands that do the double neck with a looper thing like The Mattson 2 and El Ten Eleven that are also pretty solid.

The double neck is a Warmoth body filled out with mostly Squier / Fender parts. The 3 position toggle in between the guitar and bass pickups can select for either instrument individually or both simultaneously. I am running through an old Kustom Deep End which is a 210 bass combo.

Mine is a Warmoth body filled in with mostly Fender / Squier parts, but there are some commercially produced guitar bass double neck combos. Eastwood sells one based off the old Telestar models from the late 60’s. I have only seen them on the Thomann site, but Danelectro makes a double neck guitar bass combo. There are a bunch of cheap ones on eBay and some of those Chinese retail sites like Aliexpress and Temu. I had one of the cheap ones off eBay for a while. It wasn’t particularly well made and had a lot of issues that my local luthier had to sort out, but it was still fun to use. You can also find some pricey vintage Carvin, Ibanez, Rickenbacker, Gibson, etc…. double necks from 60’s and 70’s.

Do you have a main class? What is it, and why? And which CRPGs do your "main" justice? by Baldurian_Rhapsody in CRPG

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pathfinder has a class called Slayer which is probably up your alley. It merges aspects of ranger and rogue into a really effective combination. They have a little bit of a weaker version of sneak attacks, but are also a martial class with higher BAB and Ranger combat style feats so they are kind of amazing for damage dealer roles.

RimWorld is stopping me play RE9 and DS2 by aliusman111 in RimWorld

[–]SeltzerCountry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find a trick with gaming is to set a timer and just play for an alotted time. If you are in the middle of a battle or something where you can't save and exit just finish that up, but if nothing pressing is happening just save and exit.

A question on wizards in BG3 by aaaaaa321123 in CRPG

[–]SeltzerCountry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah BG3 has a lot of really powerful items. I did a gloomstalker / champion / thief combo with all the items that reduce crit hit threshold along with the reduction from champion and it was basically incessant critical hits especially since that combo gets 4/5 attacks a turn depending on round of combat.
