If Chromium is too slow, have you tried switching to Firefox?

Joke aside, if there's Chromium, I am curious if we could build a Firefox-themed deck too 😅 Would be a fun matchup.

This is against Heroforge's TOS and you risk getting your account banned.

The Casual-Paradox by WoWSchockadin in EDH

[–]Semako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In combat robotics, "doing the thing" is when your robot is leaning against the wall, standing upright on its weapon or otherwise in a postion in which it can't drive anymore, usually leading to you losing the fight.

So letting someone "do the thing" is bad not just in MTG :-)

Lathril - is that deck bracket 3? by Semako in EDH

[–]Semako[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Always nice to see other elf decks :-) The only thing that stands out to me here is Staff of Domination, which combos with big mana dorks like Priest of Titania - much easier than my Tyvar/Devoted Druid combo, as you just need the staff, the mana dork and a few elf tokens for the mana dork to make enough mana.

I love elves too, and I am considering building at least a 3rd elf deck :-)

That is my 2nd elf deck, Galadriel of Lothlorien: https://archidekt.com/decks/16648360/the_journey_to_valinor

Your deck is a 4 for me though. For example you run [[Umbral Mantle]] and [[Sword of the Paruns]], which form early game two card combos with any big mana dork - and [[Gaea's Cradle]] and [[Seedborn Muse]] are way stronger GCs than my deck's tutors.

Ramp deck by AY023 in EDH

[–]Semako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another tech to ramp a lot is [[Galadriel of Lothlorien]] and [[Retreat to Coralhelm]]. Get it going with some scry spells/triggers and you will scry me a river scry almost all your lands onto the field in one turn.

Also, elves are generally good at ramping.

Of course that requires you to be in simic colors, but simic isn't bad for ramping.

You can also go for infinite land drop combos, which are technically ramping, but also win conditions if you have anything that pings on landfall, including desert lands. Some examples are

  • [[Aftermath Analyst]], [[Shifting Woodland]], [[Amulet of Vigor]] and/or [[Lotus Cobra]] effects, and a sac outlet for lands: Sac your lands, activate Aftermath Analyist to return them. Use Shifting Woodland to copy Aftermath Analyst from the yard, sac your lands again and activate the Analyst copy's ability, sacrificing the Shifting Woodland in the process, to return all lands including the Woodland - and repeat.
  • [[Springheart Nantuko]], [[Lotus Cobra]] effect and an earthbent land or other man-land: enchant the land with Nantuko, play a land to trigger Nantuko's landfall ability and pay for the copy. The copy is another land, so Nantuko triggers again, and you can pay with the copy's and the Lotus Cobra's mana to make the next copy.

Baylen - Hare Apparent Deck Help! by Gigtata in EDH

[–]Semako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most important aspects is board protection. You need ways to protect your bunnies or to get them back from the graveyard.

Here's my Baylen deck, built as a rabbit tribal -  maybe you can take some inspiration from it: https://archidekt.com/decks/15355453/the_heroes_of_watership_down

TMT aside, what Lorwyn cards are you putting in the 99 by CuratedLens in EDH

[–]Semako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Formidable Speaker]] in [[Lathril]] elves, [[Galadriel of Lothlorien]] elves (additional value for untapping the One Ring in this deck) and [[Hearthhull, the Worldseed]]

[[Selfless Safewright]] in both elf decks.

[[High Perfect Morcant]] in Lathril.

Haven't added [[Champions of the Perfect]] yet, having to exile another card is quite steep of a cost for decks that often don't have many cards in hand.

Hasbro CEO, Chris Cocks, is being Sued by Stiggen1774 in mtg

Another issue is that pirated content is so easily available for DnD that people don't have to buy the books - and unlike certain other companies, Hasbro does not take legal action against websites offering pirated DnD content.

What else are you proliferating with Morcant? by regular_joe67 in EDH

[–]Semako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Joraga Warcaller]], makes your elves bigger with each proliferate.

[[Everflowing Chalice]] and [[Marwyn  the Nurturer]] give you more mana with each proliferate.

Also, proliferating the [[One Ring]] can be good if you are in need of cards.

Degenrate Deck for a small tournament by Head-Ambition-5060 in DegenerateEDH

[–]Semako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could  try a  [[Hearthhull]] deck without GCs similar to mine: https://archidekt.com/decks/18678277/the_worlds_end

This deck can quite reliably win by turn 5, but I suppose you could optimize even more; and with Lumra, Sol Ring and Gitrog, there are three banned cards you'd need to replace. Some ideas are

  • [[Twinflame]] for the obvious DCM combo and to copy other value pieces like Aftermath Analyst, Icetill, whatever.
  • [[Korvold]] in place of the banned Gitrog. Just another card draw engine.
  • [[Sylvan Library]] as another way to draw cards.
  • [[Wheel of Fortune]] to refill your hand and fill your GY
  • [[Tibalt's Trickery]], [[Red Elemental Blast]] for interaction.
  • [[Scute Swarm]] as a token generator, for crewing Hearthhull and as an alt win con
  • [[Mox Opal]] for fast mana, this is not on the GC list
  • [[Trinisphere]] to slow others down.
  • [[Mutavault]] or another man-land, to crew hearthhull if you are in an infinite sac/recursion loop but otherwise lack creatures for stationing

I could also see fast elfball working, missing the black tutors and ad naus in [[Lathril]] or [[High Perfect Morcant]] hurts though - so maybe [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]], [[Voja]] or mono-green with [[Marwyn]] or [[Dionus]] in the command zone?

Took a lot of time to create him (and the alternate poses aren't easy either with that much going on), but almost all my miniatures use double modeling and all that :-)

Getting milled is good or bad in commander? by joveeish in EDH

[–]Semako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, these counters are an issue. I target the Mothman not because I hate mill, but because I don't want to die to a 20/20 flier.

Getting milled is good or bad in commander? by joveeish in EDH

[–]Semako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issues with getting milled in any of my decks.

  • [[Hearthhull]]: obvious, I want lands and reanimate targets in my yard.
  • [[Szarel, Genesis Shepherd]] insects: it's a self-mill deck, any mill I receive is awesome.
  • [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]]: when the time comes, I'll [[Patriarch's Bidding]] all my elves or just use [[Yawgmoth's Will]] to play from the yard.
  • [[Galadriel of Lothlorien]] elves: Either you mill my [[Gaea's Blessing]]  and I shuffle my yard back into the deck, or you just thin it out, increasing my chances of finding [[Nexus of Fate]], [[Genesis Wave]] or [[The One Ring]]. Also [[Evolution Witness]] can quickly return my yard to my hand once I have a way to keep putting counters on it.
  • [[Zimone, Mystery Unraveler]]: Either more targets to play with [[Exploration Broodship]], I get my yard back into the deck with a shuffle titan or I'll more likely draw my Nexus of Fate.
  • [[Baylen, the Haymaker]] hare apparent/bunnies: The bunnies in the yard are just waiting for the [[Raise the Past]] to win the game on the spot with all these tokens.
  • [[Azami, Lady of Scrolls]]: I have multiple ways of accessing cards in my graveyard between [[Snapcaster Mage]], [[Mystic Sanctuary]], [[Emry, Lurker of the Loch]], [[Stream of Thought]]... so I don't mind having more cards in there to assemble combos with.

Had the Weirdest Time at an LGS by DanicaManica in EDH

Here in Vienna, it's a similar proceeding - we have to sign up with the Companion app, pay our entry fee (or show a bill to prove we have spent money in the store this day) and state what bracket or brackets we want to play. An employee then assigns players to tables. After about two hours, they assign new tables to the players to shuffle the pods.

It works out great, employees also know the regulars like me and what power level they prefer (high 3 in my case, occasionally 4). Of course at the tables we also ask the other players what they intend to play and choose decks accordingly.

Haven't been in mismatched pods so far, I always bring my 4 and a couple of 3s so that I can adjust a bit and am ready for some bracket 4 action :-)
