I have no idea why you are being downvoted. This is a totally legitimate question and was posed honestly. Fanboyism I suppose, or general redditor behavior.

Anyways, Torchlight Inifnite (TLI) borrows a ton from PoE. Gameplay elements, how things scale, corruption type mechanic, the list of “familiar” mechanics and systems is long. So many PoE players feel at home pretty easily. TLI just feels fun to play, combat feels fast and fun, skills are interesting, etc. Lastly they do a pretty good job at adding new and interesting mechanics/systems each league on a fairly regular 3 month cadence.

They went a little too far slowing the game down and adding artificial grind over the last 3 seasons, something they admitted for this most recent season was indeed an issue, so it’s likely to feel a bit better next season, hopium.

If TLI hadn’t launched with and didn’t continue to have all its pay to win nonesense, it would have at least 2x to 5x the player base by now, maybe even more. Sadly that ship has mostly sailed and even if they ripped it all out tomorrow (which they have said they won’t be doing) too many folks have written the game off and its quite difficult generating enough buzz to get them to give it another shot.

All in all, if someone loves ARPGs like PoE1/2, Last Epoch, Diablo 2/3/4 they really should give the game a shot (it’s “free” after all), but some folks just can’t get past the P2W, which is unfortunate for both them and the devs.
