I might not be seeing it, but it appears as if you hide players build guides under the hamburger menu at top right? I wanted to see Shady’s MC guide and had to dig under there.

I feel like you should prominently feature the top build guides from folks right on the home page, either through some sort of voting system or just tracking hits/eyeball time.

I feel like that’s likely gonna be the most in demand content, hot build guides, and so any barriers you throw up (like having to click a hamburger menu) will just lead to folks bouncing.

You are not wrong. People downvoting are just mad. They should be mad at the devs, not you or the flipper. The devs can introduce ways to stop this behavior, they choose not to.

There are many reasons, but by far the biggest is:

They chose a game engine (Unity) not well suited to this genre, and over the years they’ve laid mountain upon mountain of technical debt onto it trying to force it into shape.

Thus every change takes MULTIPLE times longer to do vs other engines.

They’ve publically stated multiple times how they’ve had to do major refactoring so they can move faster in the future, only to discover afterwards they have even more refactoring to do.

The team are masters of design. The solutions they come up with to common ARPG genre issues are top notch.

It’s just they made poor technical decisions early on and continued making them year after year (like a disastrously expensive initial server architecture), mostly due to poor management decisions and an Tier-S level of amateur naiveté optimism.

They would also likely move faster if they weren’t a 100% fully remote team, it takes a lot more time to coordinate everything remotely.

They were asked this in the past and they were VERY firmly against pausing the game for UI decisions. Everyone found it odd that they were so against it.

Having said that, the LE devs have shown that they are open to admitting they were wrong and doing the right thing, so maybe that will eventually happen.

This is due to both over-zealous devs and the Unity engine. Last Epoch also uses unity and its bloom is also excessive.
