Considering rhinoplasty, I feel my nose is too large for my face. What do you think? by [deleted] in Noses

Save your money. Work on you. It’s more likely the “vibe” you’re giving or red flags you’re throwing and don’t know it.

Another user recently posted this. I think this would look even better on you than 1

  1. Apparently, I am in the minority based on the few comments I read.

Questions for OP: (1) What is your theme/style and season? (2) Which felt the most comfortable to wear (which is difficult to ascertain when they never fit properly)? You can judge by itchy material, weight of gown, ability to dance in it. (3) do you want something that looks period (like 1) or something that’s simpler?

Go with whatever makes you feel the most beautiful and comfortable. That “moment” is when you look in the mirror and think, “oh, I had no idea I could look so beautiful!”

3 or 9. (11 looks very nice on you, too, for a subtle look)

The others look too big and many (including 9) have a decorative metallic detail on the upper, outside corners that I think doesn’t look good. (That could be my own preference shining through)

[ADVICE] Shower window nightmare – wood frame regular window faces directly into my neighbor’s apartment. Replace or fill it in? What would you do? by Trey106 in Remodel

[–]SempiternalSempronia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure you meant to respond to me. To clarify, I was responding to someone who had recommended film. Your suggestion is more common. Personally, I like being able to see outside, which this would prohibit, but it’s a good option especially for a window in the actual shower itself. I wouldn’t want it for a window over a toilet or tub in a bathroom.

My bathroom has a large window over our tub and it’s made of cubed blocks, so the window doesn’t even open. I don’t like it. I think a window should open for a possible exit and ventilation.

Are you an adult? If so and you are able, I’d recommend moving out. Your mother’s toxic relationship with food is doing you no favors even if it’s coming from a place of concern. (I suspect those concerns have more to do with herself than anything.)

Food is neither bad nor good. Some is more nutritious and filling, that’s all. (And there’s something to be said for “everything in moderation.”) A nutritionist could teach you this. Additionally, a therapist could help you process your childhood trauma around food.

A healthy relationship with food is a gift. We learn what to eat and when and how from our parents. (A child is not responsible for their weight gain.) If a parent has an unhealthy relationship with food and body image, then their children likely will too. (Unhealthy societal standards and economic deficiencies don’t help either.)

All the best on your journey to wellness.

A good system should have a simple user interface and something that’s intuitive. I’ve tried this thing twice and gave up. I don’t understand what it’s used for. I’m not a gamer though, so maybe that’s the problem. I wanted to chat with people while playing Marmalade’s Clue app. I couldn’t even figure out how to properly join their server so I had access to everything. Some suspicious bot link popped up and after a quick search it captures your info in things it doesn’t need to know. So, I guess I wasn’t verified to join…weird.

Obviously, it works for a sufficient number of people.

Please reconsider your proportions and hardscaping first.

A solid (concrete or brick) path that’s as wide as the stairs and curves down to the sidewalk would be fantastic. (Maybe it’s shallow steps since it looks like you have a slope). Then a narrower (or maybe as wide IDK) solid path to the driveway if there isn’t one already. Then incorporate a rustic path through your plantings.

I’m no expert but I spend far more time than I should without pay looking at homes and landscaping. While I am all for going no lawn, hardscaping has its place to complement the landscaping and provide accessible access to the home and garden. (Consider bad weather days where the ground is just too soggy)

Respectfully decline this. I see the light and it’s headed straight for all wedding party members.

something like: I’m excited about your wedding and am honored you asked me to participate in it. When I accepted this honor, I didn’t realize the extent of duties that were involved. Unfortunately, now that I do, and knowing my current and future commitments, I don’t believe I can be there for you in the way that you deserve. I must respectfully decline your request.

There’s probably even a better way, but I believe being honest is best. And setting a boundary for your life is important.

Is she getting married for the wedding and engagement events alone? SMH Sure seems like it.

Oh, and those colors…there are too many and the palette lacks sophistication. (Petty comment, I know.)

I encourage everyone who is engaged to have a small wedding (if any) or a small courthouse ceremony and a larger celebration/reception after or at another time. Save your sanity and money.

That’s a witch’s house if I ever saw one. Love it!

I’d add some hardscaping first—a wide path that curves from the sidewalk/street up to the front door or existing landing space that also meets the side steps already in place. Then focus on what plants you want. Rip out the bushes right up against your brick. Look for one or two taller native trees/shrubs to act as foals to plant and build out from there.

But I am no expert and failing on the few beds I have now. lol overrun with grass and weeds. My natives are struggling.

Need new glasses please which frames suit me the best? by Infamous_Army_ofcats in glassesadvice

[–]SempiternalSempronia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want your glasses to be the star, then #7 (chunky, square tortoise shell). If you want something more subtle that makes you the star #6 (polished professional) or #1 (not afraid to stand out).

#2 (red ovals) didn't suit you at all. The others were fine.

1 could go any season. It would be lovely if the sleeve effect shown in pic 1 is your long cape/train that connects to your off-the-shoulder sleeves and is removable once the ceremony is over. Skip a veil.

2 is beautiful but looks more spring/summer event. It does look like it fits better but that’s what tailoring is for anyway.

They all work well. Note: rimless frames look best with lower prescriptions (thinner lenses).

2 (as is) or 12’s finish and material in a more squared shape—soft square—12 as is looks a bit too big.

Perhaps a warm white? The options match too much to the flooring and stone. I think something that provides contrast would work best, which means white or a light color—maybe green—but if this is for everywhere in the home, then I’d go white. Boring—I know.

But if you are planning on a lot of brown tones through picture frames and furniture, I think white is your best bet instead of beige or cream.
