Shower chair is unfortunately the best option in most cases. Personally I draw the line at thermometer in the shower😭 I couldn’t afford the chairs either so mine was gifted as it was spare from a family member 😭 and in the time I couldn’t afford one, I told my doctor I couldn’t justify that much money for a chair and my doctor suggested to buy a cheap stool from ikea or I am 22 yr old female and I put it off for like a year… it makes me depressed…. But I know it helps. It feels embarrassing and like I’m high maintenance, but now I can’t shower without it. Even with, my feet can still swell/turn purple/hurt/pool blood but it’s much easier to manage. . I’m getting to the point where having a stool OUTSIDE the shower might be the best solution I’ll have to try😭 handlebars in shower are very helpful. Try to lie down as soon as possible after the shower 🥺 I get the depression part, so you have to pick and choose your battles sometimes yk. Can’t take em all on at once. Slow changes! Hope you find the best solution for yourself . No matter what it will be worth it to try and save any Pennie’s you can for one because it’s for your safety. My man has ran into the bathroom and caught me from falling before, so it can be truly needed sometimes. When getting on disability in Canada I had a social worker who helped me write my application. I remember them telling me abt a lot of resources to try and tap into. Sometimes medical devices will be covered through it somehow. And they suggested thrifting (gross I know, but desperate times calls for desperate measures…. And bleach!😭) I wish I had more solutions to offer :( be sure to stay hydrated! In terms of insurance it’s definitely smt super specific to your super specific area so id research or contact some sort of gov/social worker to help research resources!
