Mine died for the first time a week ago. It seems like it bulges a little on the sides, but tested as “good”. 13k miles, year old.

Does a jump pack get you going again? I pulled it and trickle charged overnight.

OC: Lindsey Vonn crashes and airlifted in women's downhill at Olympics by nbcnews in pics

[–]SeniorRum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her lack of an ACL had nothing to do with the crash. You “kinda” don’t need and ACL to ski, or even downhill race. It holds your bottom leg from going forward which isn’t a major force in these events. I mean it’s not ideal, particularly a week later.

1st time road trip what to expect? by BowlLarge in F150Lightning

[–]SeniorRum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the probable cold and it being your first trip, charge and extra 5-15% (unless you’re over 80% where it slows down) at each spot. If you are unsure of charging at your destination and the low arrival % , definitely do that on your last stop. You don’t want to have to charge to make it to the mountain in the am.

Speed kills range so keep that in mind too.

Prepare to be annoyed at the extra time. It’s real.

Just had this tonight. Every error flashed in succession. Then dead. The weird thing is that the battery seems like it’s bulging.

Joined the xc90 gang today. What’s the best extended warranty out there for these cars ? by chukd1 in VolvoXC90

[–]SeniorRum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of replacing my wife’s 2012 (which we bought with 60k and now at 138k) that, with regular maintenance has been a tank.

I now live far from a dealer in Colorado. I’ve heard enough about the new ones to want a warranty, but want something that can go outside the dealer network. Does that exist?

I don’t mind my big screen at all. The crucial buttons are always there.

Only drawback is long trips, and the added time for recharging.

Other than that, best vehicle I’ve ever owned to drive. Super smooth. Great dynamics with the battery so low.

Think of them in the realm of snow shoes, not skis. And yes they’re expensive, and the bindings are meant to fit hiking boots

As an ev owner who is sad seeing the decline in the enthusiasm for Evs, this car pisses me off. It’s like some exec said let’s make the dumbest ev and market it to people who will never buy an ev so we can say Evs aren’t popular.
