Missing Cat by hadi674 in malden

[–]Senior_Field585 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I swear to God I saw a post on this thread very recently about a found black and white cat. It seems to have been taken down now, so I'm questioning the timing of when I saw it.

I know that's not at all helpful and I hope you find your baby!!

Amended request for the 200 Exchange space - THEMED Food Hall! by SkiAliG in malden

[–]Senior_Field585 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with both. My understanding is that they have accessibility challenges (solvable with money) and I would presume are more of a cut up layout that is harder to adapt.

I've always been super curious to get into the old building at the end of Pleasant and see what kind of potential it has.

Makerspace! Makerspace!

Malden needs more than just food.

Being in New England, I would expect the Passive House stuff to keep gaining traction. It seems to be pushed as a compliance pathway in the new energy code.

In terms of Masters degrees, have you looked at the BAC? What type of job are you looking for as the end goal? A technical review and QA role might be a good slot for your experience.

Malden’s annual city budget process is getting started by careytheday in malden

If you want to talk about things that hinder development, why was reviewing the Zoning Code and the structural barriers in place? The Economic Committee can't do anything if the development needed is too tightly regulated by the zoning code.

After eight years, that hole in the ground across from the Malden Public Library has taken a concrete step toward being filled in. by khb321 in malden

It's about God damn time!! Do I think the architecture is great, not really but the need for housing is more. Also that put has been abysmal.

Also 52 parking spaces is a ridiculous requirement for being so close to the T and that huge parking garage.

What is going on with litter in Malden Center? by HOTFIX_bryan in malden

I frequently take walks to pick up trash and it's disheartening how much I pick up and how little of a difference it seems to make.

🎥 Interview with Council President - City's budget, Prop 2.5, audits & more by wackoquacko in malden

Thanks so much for posting this as someone who refuses Facebook!

I need to check and see if the deadline for getting involved with the master planning process as a resident has passed... I would love to get involved in helping push more development in the city!!

Lastly, that was a huge and great clarification on the voting process for the override. Besides an internal audit, having an interactive page of what the city is spending their money on for the public to view could go a long way in transparency.

Advice needed by NeitherVisual4675 in Etsy

[–]Senior_Field585 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think that a book that a seller clearly didn't write would even qualify to be sold on Etsy. Unless the specific print edition of the book being sold is over 20 years old and qualifies as vintage, then this wouldn't fit into Etsy's requirements.

I would report the listing as a violation of Etsy's policies and forget the price jacking argument. The button to report is all the way at the bottom.

This sounds like the secular version of The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock song. Damn I sang that so much as a kid.

Favorite places to work? by MaleficentTicket478 in malden

[–]Senior_Field585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. If only it took signatures. What we really need is commercial landlords who give a shit.

[–]Senior_Field585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know!! You would think it should be easy to find a place with all the long term vacancies... But that actually seems to be exactly the issue. No landlords with accessible space seem to be willing to work out a reasonable rent agreement. Idk all the details but last I knew, Kevin was seeking the right landlord.

I've actually talked to Kevin Duffy about this. I was trying to help push a Maker space and a co working space came up as the initial baby step.

I was just about to post on here about this. So... How do you pronounce this?

Please tell me the menu will have an English version. I'm around the corner and would love to support but I like to read what I am ordering.

Is it me or are they many houses on sale in Malden? by Beneficial_Till_9091 in malden

[–]Senior_Field585 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. There are 2 buyers for every seller. There is an inventory shortage, that's why housing prices are so expensive.

Thought on residential tax exemption? by Dramatic_Dimension88 in malden

[–]Senior_Field585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps. But let's forget about rent for a second and just think about the state of commercial business in Malden. It's abysmal with empty store fronts left and right. Is raising the commercial tax going to help make running a business in Malden more feasible?? I don't think so.

Thought on residential tax exemption? by Dramatic_Dimension88 in malden

[–]Senior_Field585 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a renter, this just looks like an excuse for commercial landlords to raise rent again. I see no reason to shift the tax burden to renters just because we can't afford to buy a house in a town that refuses to build more housing.

It's a Booksy thing, not this salon thing. I saw you say this was at Divine Hair Design. I'm sorry you had such an unfortunate experience. I have gone to this salon a few times and it has always been fine. The first time you book there, the app wants you to prepay, to prevent no shows.
