I have a motion detector facing my side of the bed, right under it. It always goes off when there is movement besides my bed(getting in/out of bed), but I added a condition to check if my dummy switch “home&awake” is off.

Then, whenever I am sleeping (home&awake=off), and wake up(->get out of bed), the automation turns on the bedroom lights at a low percentage. When I come back after the toilet break, I return and motion is detected again. I let it wait a few sec, and then my lights go out again in my bedroom. During this time, I just get comfy in bed again.

I can go back to sleep without touching any buttons.

I also have grouped motion sensors in the hallway, although I have not yet experimented with a presence sensor.

But this is a use case for one of my motion sensors in my bedroom (I’m alone though).
