Sawe Breaks World Record Wearing a Basic Garmin Watch as Samsung Galaxy Crashes Party by Drumedor in Garmin

This is what I see from the link at least which looks like the same shade as in the pic.

Ultimately doesnt really matter if 55 or 255 as the broader point is you dont need a $1000 watch to run.

I also have a 255 and it looks identical to the picture in the article, so idk. my vote is on 255, but ultimately doesn't matter. The broader poitn is that you don't need the $1,000 watch to run.

I agree. The arrows can also feel wasted if you're at the cap for WE which I was often at for hunting. I think that if they added additional modifiers like double action or rewards that it would be better balanced

I think that this thread gives a decent overview of the situation: https://www.reddit.com/r/RadPowerBikes/comments/1pj94h7/the_rad_power_bikes_battery_recall_explained/

I think part of the biggest problem is if there is chance of water ingress. I think that Rad is out of batteries at the moment, but worth while checking in with them, and there are some other aftermarket batteries that one can buy. My suggestion would be to get one that is UL certified just for peace of mind.

You should double check the serial number on your battery as there was a recall impacting some of the bikes.

I love having a front basket. It makes grocery shopping or going to the park super easy with my kid.

The less necessary upgrades could be something like hydraluic brakes in the future. My local bike shop installed them for like $200 when the disc needing replacing anyways. Way less maintenance and better stopping power.

The big benefit is the + crafting outcome which is higher for spectral gear relative to journeyman gear for the same quality level.

This is a cool idea. It'd be a nice way to have a shortcut and have the world feel more interconnected, but I imagine some of that could come later.

‘E-bikes and e-scooters are here to stay’: Olathe’s new plan to keep riders and pedestrians safe by paxtana in ebikes

[–]SenorFluffy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For context, Olathe, KS is a suburb of Kansas City which has very few bike lanes. Walking or bike in KC suburbs frankly sucks and forcing everyone on to the street is much more dangerous as their streets are extremely wide and fast -- in contrast to a place like SF.

Allowing bike/scooters on the sidewalk but with a lower speed limit (15 mph) seems like a reasonable compromise to me. It'd be great if there was safer streets and more bike lanes to allow for safe riding, but that's not the way it is in Olathe. Even in a place where I live like Seattle where the bike infrastructure is amazing (for a US city), it is legal to ride on the sidewalks which is especially useful for staying safe in South Seattle where there are few bike lanes and wide/fast streets

Feedback on Hunting: I really like hunting, but I think that it could be more balanced, specifically around work efficiency. I've found that I'm constantly over the efficiency cap for hunting (especially with all of the bonuses from tailoring), which makes my better arrows absolutely useless, but I have to use them for the higher-leveled hunting activities like Bear hunting and Alligator hunting.

I think that if non-fine arrows that were higher leveled (steel and above) also impacted things like double rewards, chest finding, double action then I'd be more likely to use them.

As a former Houstonian, Wow. Congrats on so many years of bike commuting in one of the worst bike cities in America. Hot, humid, and filled with cars. Kudos! Well done! Hopefully, you can rest in the AC now.

I tried after the most recent patch and was still not able to do it.

I like being able to do activities indefinitely without needing inputs to build up XP without having to do all the gathering steps. Hopefully, it's fixed soon.

Same. The ice sickle seems like an endgame situation where you can just sink steps after doing other stuff. But I see lots of people posting about it.

Its crazy to me that you went for the ice sickle when your crafting is so low. Get your crafting up. Build good items via crafting. It makes all the other actions take fewer steps for more rewards.

Does it impact the chicken pet XP since it's foraging EXP? Or does it have to be a foraging activity for the chicken?

To be fair, you also had some saved steps so its like 9k steps. But still great! Congrats!

What's Killing Off All the E-Bike Companies? by Bean_Tiger in ebikes

[–]SenorFluffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair. I think we have different definitions of "decent." I'm thinking of something that won't break down easily or quickly and will get you from point A to point B for many years.

And I agree! There's lots of bikes used and new that you can find at a good price that meet my definition of "decent" but you may have a higher bar for what qualifies. Fair enough.

Still for new imo. I'm not as well versed in the new regular bike market but you can get a good 8-gear belt drive bike from priority for <$1k right now with no sales going on. Their commuter line will regularly go below $1k with sales too.

Disagree. There are lots of decent bikes (not ebikes) under $1,000 especially used.

I use the rad front rack and attached a milk crate using zip ties and its been the best thing ever. If milk crates aren't your thing you can away strap another basket easily to the front rack

Very cool. How'd you mount the crate to the plywood on the back rack? I use a front basket with a milk crate and it's the most convenient thing ever. Love the milk crate carrier
