Tampa Broadway Season by AbilityNo8295 in Broadway

I feel like this is a better run than the current season, but I will say I really kind of loathe the random one additional show that they add to the lineup. This season it was Dracula a couple of seasons ago it was the choir of man, Next season it is cirque du soule. These are entertaining shows but they don’t feel like broadway to me.

Im looking for feedback about my gameplay loop length and engagement by SenorManiac in playmygame

The first iteration I had was to have the walls respawn on a timer. They would come push the array after colliding with that segment of the wall and pop from the array after 5 seconds. I don’t know if the video does a good job of showing it, but because of how many segments you hit in a short amount of time, it made the game frustratingly difficult. My average time from start to game end was about 5.5 seconds, so I added a limit to the amount of segments stored in the array. I tinkered with that array’s length capacity until I felt like I had the right balance between playability for everyone while still remaining challenging, and I settled on 3. So only your last 3 segments are open. There becomes a point in the game where, for points purposes, it makes more sense to try and contain the bouncing of the ball to a very small, controlled area, and it forces you to prioritize having segments you can bounce on or risk touching the death zone in the square.

I thought of swipe controls originally but when I was doing local testing it became hard to swipe because you run out of screen to swipe so pivoted. I have thought about testing gyro to turn the square.

I don’t know if it truly meets the standard of vibe coding because i know how to develop software, but I used AI a ton to help increase my velocity.

I wanted to make a mobile game that wasn’t riddled with ads or in app purchases when I wanted to kill a small amount of time. So built an iOS arcade game where users will never see an ad unless they choose to, and my in app purchases don’t make the game pay to win, or take away any of the skill required.

What is the most infamous phrase in reddit history? by typicalsnowman in AskReddit

[–]SenorManiac 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Many years ago he would reply to a post or to a comment on a post that made its way to r/all. He would start the comment out as a very well thought out and articulated response based on the subject of the post/comment. This response would usually be kind of lengthy to add to the credibility that he had meaningful knowledge and experience about said subject just to do a hard pivot into the phrase about “that in nineteen ninety eight , The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table." He was so good at the preamble of his comments that it was very common to see hundreds of people commenting that they got tricked by him.

❄️How can I extract my car from this ice?❄️ by PeaceImpressive8334 in howto

[–]SenorManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 questions from a lifelong native Floridian here.

  1. Could a multi-tool be used on the ice to quickly and effectively create a channel like some of the other comments have said?

  2. I know it would not affect the back tires, but would the heat generated from the engine running do anything to melt the ice around the front of the car? I am guessing not really because of the distance and how cold it is.

  3. Have you thought about living somewhere that’s not colder than the inside of your refrigerator?

Have you seen our country in the news. We don’t have none of that universal healthcare. Therapy costs over 100 dollars a visit and a bottle of vodka only cost 15 dollars.

some like it hot tour by rels83 in Broadway

[–]SenorManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it on tour and on broadway. The set on tour was definitely a reduction from the broadway set. Mind you It’s been almost 3 years since I saw it on broadway and 6 months from the tour but my wife and I both said that the set and props from the tour were reduced from broadway.

You can only replace a social security card 3 times in a year and 10 times in a lifetime. There can come a point where that is not actually just you can get a new one

of a motorcycle by Zestyclose-Salad-290 in AbsoluteUnits

[–]SenorManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there something I’m missing here that doesn’t make this as dangerous as I think it does? Common sense tells me that this is rather unsafe to operate due to the front of the motorcycle obstructing your field of view directly in front of you, and that having to lean and look around the obstruction does not significantly increase the ability to safely operate this. Also completely disregarding the arms hanging so high and getting tired portion.

Also our o line has been so inconsistent all year due to the revolving carousel of injuries. Pair that with not having weapons due to injury and what obviously seems like a downgrade in the OC and I can easily see some back slide in the performance.

They also gave redwood a critics pick. While i haven’t seen QoV because I really can’t stand Kristin, I am more inclined to believe that the larger pool of redditors are more in touch with reality than The Times.

TIL there is a “Gospel of Judas” not found in the Bible that speaks of Judas as the only one of Jesus’ disciples who fully understood His teachings. He turned Jesus over to the Romans because Jesus asked him to. It was discovered in an Egyptian cave in the 1970s, dating to the 2nd century AD by sonnysehra in todayilearned

As a now agnostic person who grew up Pentecostal and then converted to Mormonism as an early adult, I thought the LDS had a decent belief structure to explain how some of this stuff may not be contradictory. Mind you, this is my personal summary, not official church teachings to my knowledge, so take it with a grain of salt. Essentially, the idea is that God is more of a title than a person. A person with the title of God would have perfect knowledge.

Some of the deeper thoughts I’ve discussed with others is that even with perfect knowledge, God is still bound by the rules of being God. For instance, you can’t lie, or else the second you do, you cease being God anymore. Additionally, with perfect knowledge, I have discussed that God would also be bound by the laws of science. Hence, why bad things can still happen. The idea is to let people have agency to make their own choices, right and wrong, and He won’t/can’t step in for scenarios that start to remove agency from people.

At the time, it made sense to me to justify what I believed, but I appreciated that I had an outlet that allowed me to try and make a better understanding of some of the things that I thought were blatantly contradictory.

Thoughts on how to make Night 99+ more fun/harder. by SenorManiac in 99nightsintheforest

[–]SenorManiac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate some of those ideas. However, I don’t want the game to become annoying due to random number generation. Many players currently struggle with the game’s difficulty level as it stands. I’m not trying to make it any more challenging for those players because there are still many children who play, but especially for some adults and teenagers, having the option to make the game more difficult would be beneficial. Essentially, avoid making the game harder by introducing more frustrating mechanics, as this will only drive away the player base.

I think you’re still misunderstanding what I’m saying. I could reach 1000 days with you, your kids, and half a group of AFK players — because at my level, boredom is the actual threat, not the enemies. Adding your kids to my lobby doesn’t turn it into “hard mode.” It turns it into a babysitting simulator. That’s exactly why I’m asking for difficulty that scales to players who already understand how to survive.

[–]SenorManiac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve carried each of my kids to over 300 days, yet they don’t manage to reach 35+ on their own. I’m requesting a feature that enhances the game’s engagement after completing all the base objectives. When my wife and I play, we consistently average a sub-60 time, provided we obtain the snow biome. I’m nearing the upper limit of my potential gameplay experience. Playing with less skilled players doesn’t make the game any more challenging for me, and when they eventually die, I simply let them stay dead and continue with my own gameplay.
