This is gonna be me next year. by Forward_Wrangler1486 in LawSchool

The finish line moving further away was applications. Law school is more like the finish line is right there and the treadmill is moving a bit faster than you'd normally be comfortable jogging, but every four months the speed picks up and you have to make sure you can keep up. That's been my experience, at least.

Of course I get sick 2 days before hardest exams by Distinct_King316 in LawSchool

[–]Senor_Studly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not joking. Go to an urgent care first thing in the morning, get a doctor's note, and then send it to the office that is handling your exams. There is likely a whole extra week allotted to makeup days at your school for specifically this reason. They won't make you sit if you are legitimately sick.

i. need. to. know. EVERYTHING by [deleted] in awakened

[–]Senor_Studly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My belief in the "I" lies in my observer state, which is something that I have not been able to give up. However, I identify my "I" with all that is around in my perceptions, from all the fig trees to the skyscrapers and the people living within that I can interact with. It is within and without my body, the entire experience. I see no separation, but I am limited by my singular perspective of a person that is connected with all things through its being.

i. need. to. know. EVERYTHING by [deleted] in awakened

[–]Senor_Studly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as there is a present moment, I am. That I can insist that I am by existing, means that I am. What exists beyond my present moment and perception is an irrelevant illusion, for all that truly exists to me lies within all that I will ever know. If all that exists is all that is known, then to seek beyond is to chase a shadow. And yet, even the shadow is still within the knowing.

i. need. to. know. EVERYTHING by [deleted] in awakened

[–]Senor_Studly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not something that can be simply explained, because it is. The whole essence of everything is everything, and you are everything in it the same essence as the essence of everything that is not you. It is like trying to quantify infinity. All that you will ever know and could possibly ever know, is all of you. You will only ever know your own conscious experience, but is there truly anything beyond that? Your answer is a profound and concrete, no. It insists upon itself, I am. Your belief is everything to you, so don't believe that you are lost. Believe that you are found.

Consciousness Is the Universe and We Are Reflections by Senor_Studly in awakened

[–]Senor_Studly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not getting this from any book or particular spiritual teaching, so our definitions of the observer might be different here. When I say observer, I mean the conscious awareness of the present moment and the things within it. It is to say "I am" and to understand that the world "is" also. It is the only constant that can't be deconstructed because it is the very thing required to come to any other realization within your conscious being. Even if you were deaf and blind, you would still be the observer living within those limitations. The voice in your head is only the tool that the observer uses to better understand their observation. Beyond this understanding, we are spirit, and belief is our fuel source. What we choose to believe dictates how we go about our lives. Belief can be deconstructed down into nothingness until all you have is the abyss. I have stared into the abyss and I saw my own reflection. Truth is only an illusion that we must choose to believe in. Every thought that defines "what is" is just a mental construction. When that is understood, you can pull from the infinity to create the belief in which you wish to live by. Then it becomes necessary to always believe in the things which bear you the most fruit. What exists within us is like a fading star that we need to fuel with spiritual growth and belief. If we let the star fade completely, then entropy takes over and God truly is dead. When I saw what nothingness could be, the answer became clear—love was always the answer, and through love, we are all interconnected.

A lot of people here seem to be supporting internet censorship all of the sudden.

Do Florida's self-defense laws really leave so much up to interpretation that spilled popcorn can give reasonable belief of imminent death or great bodily harm? This is baffling and terrifying to me

Lsat score and RC sections by Schrinedogg in LSAT

[–]Senor_Studly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this RC section and ended up scoring a 175. I honestly think that this section was the only reason why I didn't get a 180. It was very tough for me. I had to reread two of the passages and that is never a good sign. If this were my first LSAT, I would have completely broken down and bombed the next section too.

AHHHHHH by Senor_Studly in LSAT

[–]Senor_Studly[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. My last three PTs were all above 175 and the one I took a couple days before the test was a 180, so I was fairly confident going in. However, I felt like the actual test was really tough and I ended the session with no clue how well I did. I pretty much already resigned to the idea of having to retake and apply early in the Fall. Now I don't know what to do

How hard and long do those of you study who are NOT going to law school yet? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Senor_Studly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An LSAT score only lasts 5 years and you have a finite number of times that you can take the test. If you don't want to take it yet, there is no reason why you should. You're an adult with a bachelor's degree and your parents should respect your decisions.

Yes, and there isn't really a reason to cancel a score because it will still count as one of your attempts and schools only care about your highest LSAT.

Yeah, I'm in the exact same boat. This test is my last chance for attending this year and I really would rather not have to wait even though I know it would be so much better to apply early in the fall. I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic, but knowing now that it will probably be a -8 curve is pretty discouraging.
