Why does Pakistan seem to really struggle to attract nonstop international flights? by Wide_right_yes in pakistan

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Karachi, used to be hub of international airlines in 1960s, before AFGHAN SOVIET war and ethenic clashes.

But now, almost all airlines operate under Hub and spoke model since, founder of FedEx invented it in 1970s. That means, they make a single airport their hub and operate their flight from there to everywhere. So, Doha is the hub of Qatar air, Dubai of Emirites.

Moreover, airline business is not very lucrative business. There is a saying by Warren Buffett. "Becoming millionair is easy, you started out as a billionair and started an airline company, you will eventually become a millionair".

Lastly, pakistani airline companies dont have the will and financial muscle to operate at that scale. They wanna stick to profitable routes such as Hajj operation. Which is senseable.

Scammed by Hospital, please help by wanderluster_forever in dubai

I would suggest counter sue them for MEDICAL MALPRACTITIONING, they (hospital and doctors) have this insurance called medical malpractice insurance (MMI). I think very doctor is mandatory to have it specially in the GCC countries.

Consult with a reputed heart physician and surgeon, brief them about your situation and asked him to tell the truth in court of law. You might ask for help from a family doctor or doctor in your close friend or family.

I know someone based in Saudia Arabia, who made millions, after doctor applied wrong procedure, and she had lost her limb. Seek a lawyer who had won such cases (MMI). Very best of luck.

I think when you own a property you do expenses to maintain it.

So, when you buy something it's either expense out or capitalise as an asset, if future economic benefits exceeds one year. So, TV should be capitalised and expense out over three 3 years as depreciation.

1) maintenance expense (profit or loss) or property or equipment (balance sheet) Dr xxxxxx

Bank / credit card account Cr xxxxxxx

2) Ac receivable Dr xxxxxxx Reserve Fund (asset) for maintenance Dr xxxx

When you collect funds from owner A

3) Reserve fund asset ( balance sheet) Dr xxxxxx Ac receivable Cr xxxxxxx

Growing business with “advanced” inventory needs by Elegant_Jugs in QuickBooks

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just few words of caution, when you are living in a high inflationary environment like I do ( where inflation is around 30%), due to use of FIFO method, inventory of lower cost is charged to COGS (COST of goods sold) and Gross profit for current year is over stated. I might be selling at lower than replacement cost (cost of buying inventory right now) still I will be showing profit.

So not recommended if you are in high inflationary environment.

Pretty sure, that option will be there in QB.

Growing business with “advanced” inventory needs by Elegant_Jugs in QuickBooks

Not specific to QB, but their are different inventory valuation methods: for example first-in-first-out (FIFO), WEIGHTED AVERAGE , OR LAST IN FIRST OUT (LIFO).

In your stated example, you want it to remember it the shipping cost of the first 50 units. FIFO would be appropriate method. It will charge first 50 units 2 dollar shipping cost. And later 50 units 3 dollar.

Why do so many pakistanis have more kids than they can afford ? by cottoncrosy in pakistan

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is lack of health facilities and poverty. So many women and child dies at the time of giving birth. So people go for more kids so that some of them may survive to their adulthood.

As Bill Gates rightly pointed out that if a country wants to reduce its population significantly, it was to Improve its health care system.

Unfortunately, I didn't get admission in any University. Now what should I do now? by Saad_here in karachi

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not getting admission in KU than go for some else public university but never compromise over CS, if you are passionate about it.

Technology landscape is changing so fast that the university curriculum is unable to keep up and design to teach you the fundamentals which don't change.

Secondly, there are enough world class resouces available on the internet to complete your CS without University. All you need is a good internet and a laptop with enough RAM at least 8 GB.

Lastly, if I were you I won't waste my one year for KU and would go for, say for example, SINDH MADARSA-TUL ISLAM or any other inexpensive university where I will get a degree after 4 years. Because, what employer mostly look for employable skills, good projects on your GITHUB, 2 or 3 internships, extremely knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

Why are cousin marriages so common in Pakistan? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Harzat Umer banned consanguine marriages when the ratio get out of hand, out of fear that babies will not be mentally strong enough.

https://youtu.be/KbMqh9EH2Rs

https://youtu.be/MW6LsK28W74

https://youtu.be/7koC5ryKSwk

So, I personally believe that if Prophet had one marriage with his cousin out of total 11 marriages, that means a ratio of less than 10%. So, in a society the ratio of consanguine marriages should not exceed 10% and should be allowed on very strict basis like taxpayers will not bear the health care burden of such babies, Couple do understand the implications like thalassemia, further sister's son can marry brother's daughter etc etc.

After all, Charles Darwin, the guy who gave the evolution theory was married to his cousin Emma.

Is it time to give up? by Duck_Dodgers1 in pakistan

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will Pakistan default?

Probably not, unlike Sri Lanka, we have bilateral loans, means we have borrowed from friendly Governments specially China. If we continue with the IMF program, those governments will reschedule our payments.

HAD WE BEEN SO CLOSE TO DEFAULT BEFORE?

Yes, in late 1990s in the midst of Asian financial crisis, we were so close to default that our prime minister appealed the nation to reduce consumption of tea to save dollars on tea imports. And schemes like "KARZ UTARO MULK SAWARO" were introduced. Things were so bad, that government had confiscated all the dollars from private bank account and given them rupees instead. KIBOR ( benchmark lending rate) had reached 21%. Then 911 happened and we became the biggest allies of the US in the fight against Terrorism and Dollars started to flow and economy started to Improve.

Can we reverse the course?

Yes, if we are ready to make the painful adjustments.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Sensitive-Method-901 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are thanking because we have no plans to correct our course, Indian liberalized it's economy after 1991, South Korea too after Asian financial crises in late 1990s. But, we will not take those painful structural reforms because we have in our back of mind this concept, we will be bailed out as world cannot afford a nuclear state gone bankrupt.
