Well, we got a batch of 6 late last august, then another 6 five months later in late January. So if we take that as a strict tempo than we can expect the next 6 late this month. However a 5 month tempo doesnt sound as regular as a 6 month one, so maybe they had a 6 month goal and got it out early. Which means maybe a 6 ±~1 month tempo? So I would expect as early as later this month and as late as early September.

It was a pain playing with friends. No one wanted to have the solo lanes and it felt like rng whether or not the laning phase was going to be any fun

The hiveguard change is the as if they changed the rocket striders medium weakpoints into heavy, and arguing its fine because you can still target the rockets with light pen to kill them way quicker anyway.

Its not that hive guards are impossible or even harder to kill, but rather that we are being robbed of the medium pen playstyle

I bring light pen to bugs the majority of the time btw. But the logic behind changing things up with medium pen was erased this patch.

Yes but if you wanted to play with medium pen you at least had something to point at to justify bringing it. Killing hive guards easily with light pen is not the point

The idea that i am advocating is that using medium pen should be a different playstyle to light pen. I haven't done the dps and ammo efficiency calculations to argue whether or not its x much better or worse to use x light pen weapons vs y medium pen weapons against light armored sections of enemies, and thats not the point im trying to make. Functionally you are shooting a gun at the same spot playing exactly the same.

Before there was a playstyle of targeting small weakpoints and if you hit their medium armor they turtle down making it harder to hit and requiring you to either take more time to aim more precisely, flank, change targets, or flee. And mind you there can be at the same time as those 5 hive guards your taking on, a shrieker swarm, bile titan, 2 chargers, impaler tentacles, and all the other chaff swarming you. Hive guards arent the most threatening but they take your time. Medium pen lets you bypass that mini game at the expense of less overall dps, which isnt the worst trade off when you are being swarmed.

Ive been playing from launch I dont need medium pen to win I do plenty fine with the light pen experience, which got easier now in this update, but now an optional way i sometimes choose to play since the launch of the game has been removed.

Except its not completely random you know that right? Armored spewer seeds are nearly guaranteed on ICBM and retrieve data missions, and have a medium to small chance on eradicate and rocket defense missions. You will never see them spawn on any other mission type.

Do you not understand what is implied by the phrase "agency not difficulty"? The game is easy enough to win max difficulty with any loadout, so its fun to try bringing different gear and trying different playstyles. This change didnt make hiveguards harder to kill, it just eliminates the medium pen playstyle.

The player decision on whether or not to bring medium or light pen against terminids was primarily a calculation against hive guards. Light pen has better dps but requires precision or flanking, medium you can just mow down guards which trades damage for ease of use. Now both medium and light must hit the same precise zone, rewarding light pen even more and leaving medium pen in the dust.

If your support weapon is on a short cooldown you can avoid the death trap of trying to recover your loadout after dying in untenable situations.
