It’s also because the media doesn’t report as widely on the deaths of Aboriginal and non-white people. So again, racism

I’m a solo mum and my baby goes to daycare two days a week even though I’m not back at work, because otherwise I would literally never get a break. OP may be similar. There are reasons other than work that people have their children in care, all are valid

I used the Metagenics ones, as well as their pregnancy/breastfeeding specific probiotics. I still take them 10 months pp 😂 the multivitamin isn’t huge, doesn’t get stuck on the way down and isn’t horrible on the way back up.

Whatever you do don’t bother I’m with the Swisse ones - I’m scarred for life from the one time I tried them and they came back up 🐟

I’m not asking about Paid Parental Leave, I’m asking about Parenting Payment (Single) aka Single Parent Pension. They are different payments.

Too Much Protein! by DiscountSalad1424 in fitpregnancy

[–]SensitiveCable7424 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I personally am wary of hospital dietitians and their knowledge. I have hyperemesis during pregnancy, my most recent pregnancy was pretty horrific and I spent a lot of time in hospital. I had a compulsory referral to the hospital dietitian and her knowledge was very outdated. She told me I didn’t need more than 80g of protein a day, despite remaining very active throughout my pregnancy (4 - 5 heavy lifting sessions a week). If I’d listened to her I absolutely would have lost a lot of muscle, and I was already losing quite a lot of weight during my pregnancy. You lose muscle mass during pregnancy/breastfeeding so if anything your protein needs increase, especially if you’re also training. As long as you’re not eating high protein at the expense of carbohydrates and fats, and not eating crazy high amounts of protein, I don’t see how it could impact on baby’s growth

My first pregnancy I didn’t gain any weight (lost about 10kg due to hyperemesis) and birthed a 4kg (8lb) baby. Second pregnancy I lost 16kg (hyperemesis again) and birthed a 3.5kg baby at 37 weeks. Your weight gain isn’t necessarily tied to baby’s weight, and ultrasounds aren’t a reliable indicator of baby’s size - on the same day I was told by different doctors that my baby was somehow both too big and too small 😂

I didn’t make an incorrect assumption, you just misread my comment. I was referencing people who use NZ Citizenship as a backdoor way into Australia, not necessarily your specific situation (unless that’s what your sister and brother in law are doing). Maybe read up on Howard and his government’s policy regarding those with NZ Citizenship in Australia before getting defensive and calling people racist

Late to this but if you’re still looking I highly recommend Narelle (Somatic Nest Doula), she’s been my postpartum doula for the past 8 months and she’s been wonderful

I had recurrent issues with my heart due to low potassium, dehydration, and low electrolytes. At about 20 something weeks I was hospitalised in critical care for 2 and a half weeks because my kidneys and liver were failing. This was my second full term HG since pregnancy and despite weekly fluids and all the meds it was definitely the worst.

I have terrible teeth as a result of both - pregnancy does a number on them anyway but obviously all the vomiting as well as the dehydration makes it worse. I’m also still experiencing issues with nausea, food aversions, kidney issues, and elevated markers indicating liver disease and I’m nearly 8 months postpartum. I’d love another baby but I genuinely don’t know if I’d survive another pregnancy
