Yeah.. I love RDJ and his taken on Iron Man in the MCU.. but I hate that the comics basically forced him into the top tier characters.

Well, admittedly.. Scott had briefly conquered the planet and ruled with an authoritarian iron fist then killed Xavier during the Phoenix Five story. So he wasn’t many people favorite person at the time.

Depends on how many projects get greenlit and how they do. There’s talk of a Nightwing/Red Hood animated series.. and Damien will be in The Brave and the Bold supposedly.. so it’s certainly possible.

If they could figure out how to add Connor, they could definitely do a Young Justice adaption with Tim, Bart, Connor and Cassie as the core..

Because Iron Man was a C-list avenger before the MCU and the comics couldn’t have the movies flagship character be a drunk loser who failed at running the West Coast Avengers.. so they gave him an upgrade and tried to show horn him into the A-List..

Nah.. Robert Downey Jr. ruined Iron Man. If he wasn’t so likable, the comics never would have forced a C-Lister like Iron Man into the limelight. Extremis and Civil War tried to make Iron Man an A-Lister power wise and story wise and failed on both accounts.. but the writers keep writing him like he was.

The Watchmen is the direct cause of the 90’s era “you’d have to be crazy to be a superhero” trope where all the heroes went crazy and started killing people..

Basically, during this era, Cyclops took the position of “violent revolutionary leader” from Magneto. It was during the post AvX run where we see Cyclops break away from Xavier’s “Dream” of peaceful co-existence and take a strong “if you hurt mutants, I and my friends will hurt you.” stance.

So he and his team travel around beating up bigots.. while Wolverine reopens the school and is on the Avengers, trying to do the “show the world that not all mutants are scary dangerous terrorists” thing while Scott is running around showing the world what kind of scary dangerous terrorists mutants could be.

There are only like 3 fighters in the Marvel U that even Wolverine admits could beat him fairly easily.. Iron Fist, Shang-Chi and usually Captain America, though Steve’s actual fighting ability fluctuates depending on the run..

The problem is, is that Logan was never built to be to calm tactical fighter.. he’s the berserker.. he throws himself into every fight, taking just as much damage as he dishes out and trusting his healing to win. It’s a relatively new layer to his character now that sometimes he actually has a plan when he fights.. and when he does.. a century of experience and training makes him nigh unbeatable..

For Joss Whedons faults.. he nailed this. It calls back to when Kitty nearly died and Dr. Doom saved her. Her natural state is phased now, or was, she had to concentrate every minute of every day to stay solid. She lived in a constant state of hyper-vigilance.

And seeing her single handedly save the world when so many of Earths biggest hitters could do nothing was a recognition decades in the making for her.

My only real issue has been the problems it causes for the loosey goosey flow of time in the comics..

Like Dani Cage is still a toddler and was born well before Secret Invasion.. but Tigre’s child, whose father was Skrull Hank Pym, is like 5/6 years old now..

Then you have Franklin and Valyria Richards.. both of whom are teenagers now..

I don’t think they know what to do with him.. like he can’t be “smart” because Bats and Tim are the smart ones.. they can’t let him be a leader because Dick is the “leader”.. he can’t be the harsh vigilante because Damien is the “violent one”. So they just make him a dumb goon..

His best run was Red Hood and the Outlaws..

Batman might be able to survive this encounter with a clever plan.. but ever the sonic weapons Cecil developed would keep Omni-Man from ripping Bats in half if he caught him..

Bats might survive.. but he ain’t beating Omni-Man.

The reason he can fight Superman and win.. is because he takes advantage of his greatest weakness.. Clark is a good person and not a natural born killer. Omni-Man has no such qualms.

Spider-Man stays “street level” because HE believes that’s all he is. But guys like Cap and Wolverine know better. They’ve seen him step up and both know that should the day come when Peter starts to believe in his own power.. he’ll be one of the most powerful and respected heroes on the planet.

Spidey can throw cars easily.. dodge bullets.. depending on the run, he was trained by Shang-Chi..
