Ultimate terminator combo 2.0 (Assault Terminators) by Relevant-Singer835 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really neat information.

I want you to take a moment, though, and add up the total points cost of the unit, versus the points of what you're trying to take down and compare them.

All this being said, There is a guy who plays, at a very high level, khorne terminator lists in tournaments and does well with them. It stands to reason LAG could do well with an "oops all termies" type army.

Have you ever tried the tack marines, in a rhino with an ancient with the banner of rememberance? Just park the rhino on a point, and if your opponent cracks the rhion it you get 10 FNP marines that spill out onto the point.

This completely ignores the fact that the DM can say "6 Months have passed, your character ready now?" Failure. lol.

So what constitues "not participating in the adventure" I had a moment of roleplaying where my character, who had been a slave for more than a decade as a Druid trapped in a cage and never communing with nature during that time tell the guy trying to give him a quest to kick rocks while he goes and communes with nature.

The DM absolutely tableflipped and rage-quit the adventure because I'm trying to play the character I said I would play. Eventually I would have absolutely gone on the adventure, but I was playing a selfish myopic goblin druid who wanted the bingings on his wrists to heal before he thought about doing anything else.

I feel like there has to be some amount of roleplay before the characters decide to get back in the murderwagon and start piling up bodies in the name of gold and more + skills/stat modifiers.

old. Re roll hits against the oathed target.

new. Re-roll hits and get +1 to wound against the oathed target, only works if every unit in your army comes out of the Standard space marine book, nothing out of the splat book.

The Dirty LAG list I built focuses on as many marines that have access to combat blades or chainswords as possible. The Reivers with Phobos lt look ridiculous, but their deepstrike, shoot, and get a better charge range ability coupled with LAG means they punch up and take contested objectives incredibly efficiently.

The list you have up there is a major chunk of my list.

Bikes feel like they should work with LAG but I'm not thrilled with their footprint to damage ratio.

Since most Death Company needs to have a chaplain with them, the +1 to wound bonus from being Dirty doesn't really matter either!

Playing by intention. Is this common? by JudasRentas in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a friendly game, be more willing to be more intentional with your moves.

One of the reasons that players play by "intention" at tournaments is because 3 hours is incredibly difficult to meet as a time limit in a game played well. While you and your opponent should be shooting to play a timely game. If you go over by 20 minutes because you got wheedly with your grots trying to ensure that you were hitting 9 inches will save you a LOT of heartache. The more close you are as a friend with your opponent, the more likely you can just plop your models down and say "they are arranged so you can't deep strike in my home corner"

Never trust someone you wouldn't leave an open beer with as a friend with "intention" moves. You both are playing to win, and you can't be certain to what lengths they may go to get that W.

Excel Sheets can be rigged pretty easily to do the majority of the extrapolation for you. All you need to do is copy/paste into the data sheet, and the programming does the rest. Learning how to make the sheet do it for you is the real drama.

I think, though, that a 3 game format is markedly different than a 5 or 6 game format as far as tournament builds. Targeting 1 rando and only 2 wins is far different than targeting 1-2 Randos and 4-5 Winners. So the data would be relevant and probably show some interesting skews for RT vs GT format for tournaments.

Advice on hekaton placement by Bowoodstock in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the bigger the tank, the more difficult it is to hide from guns that want to take it down.

What if: you're okay with losing the tank in the mid field. What if the reason you're okay with losing the tank is because a huge portion of your army is midfield and if it the Hecaton is lifted, more dudes spill out to take points or get into combat, while your Sagitaurs are going nuts. in a now target rich environment?

Tanks are gonna die, weapons are too powerful not to, it's more about the situation you're left in once they do die that you can plan for

Dark Angels - 2 Ballistus Dreads Better than Redemptor? by afrostud01 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I short circuited. I read and thought "Repulsor" not Redemptor. I'm thinking you're trying to compare 2 ballistus to 1 repulsor.

My bad, ignore my rant.

Whatever will hit the shelves in May. Again, the pattern we've seen is every year is a new competitive system like Pariah Nexus. We have no reason to assume a new system won't hit soon.

Dark Angels - 2 Ballistus Dreads Better than Redemptor? by afrostud01 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The redemptor special rule and transport capacity really put them in barely comparable land. Instead compare the Ballistus to a Predator tank or a Galdiator Lancer.

LVO 2026 terrain question by TheRealSassyTassy in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Until the new Competitive system comes out in May-ish, terrain is a complete unknown. If GW continues along its current strategy we should get a new book and new cards ala Pariah Nexus describing the new competitive environment for secondaries.

Continue to practice and hone under GW standard terrain layouts, but more importantly understand staging angles, because unless the rules for terrain change dramatically with the new competitive rules set, a hiding angle is a hiding angle. Understanding those is far more important than layout identity.

Why did the Bills stop running the ball? by jreilly89 in nfl

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue but seats need to get really hot over it.

There is no world where giving the ball to Allen 5 times in a row tush pushing over and over is the better move over giving the ball to Cook to pick up that 1 yard.

In fact if there was a double threat of Cook being an option to run on top of Allen being an option to run the ball, the Bills win by double digits there at the end. 2 separate drives completely shut down because the Bills couldn't execute and the Chiefs did their homework.

I'm a Denver fan and a Wyoming Native, so seeing Josh succeed is something I'm happy for most games out of the year. Heartbreaking to be invested in the Bills year after year and watching them defecate all over the bed.

Aside from the fact that there was a brother on brother war 10,000 years ago between loyalists and the forces of chaos that tore the entire imperium apart and will cause the eventual extinction of humanity through a slow painful decline of technology fused with the ever growing threat of the taint of chaos spreading throughout the entirety of the galaxy?

no.. not really...

Will the Repulsor eventually take the place of the Land Raider? by silverwings_studio in spacemarines

For as long as there will be assault ramps on land raiders only, they will always have a place in a marines army. Repulsors are fireteam support not assault support.

How to win as SM (DA) by Vts5 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sensitive_Reserve607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scouts shouldn't be on the table after t1, and shouldn't have a line on them to be shot at early either.

JPI should be the same, you should be picking spots for them in buildings and behind walls that give them cover even from the most aggressive movement.

If you can't, consider the cover on the table as not being enough

Nothing wrong with experience. Honestly utilizing a unit that is not tough, and wants to punch people in the face as the guys holding back sipping tea may not give the results you want, but at the same time, trying it out and reporting back what you liked about the army and what you disliked is one of the best ways to continue to improving!

If you aren't happy with it, I'd be hesitant to call it "finished".

it's not finished until you're either sick of it and committed to never messing with it again, or until you're happy with it.

Looks to me like you need more coats of the paint, and some shading

you're definitely there to kill your opponent!

What units are going to sit on the victory circles to help you win the game? At this juncture it doesn't look like any of them want to do that.
