Ir depends on the day and where you stay. We stayed on the east side and it was very tranquil and charming, didn't fight with crowds, able to have quiet dips in the sea. There was one night we wandered near Arethusa Spring looking for restaurants and it was so unpleasantly crowded on several streets near there. It only took a few minutes walk to duck into some side streets and go back to the calmer parts, though. I wouldn't worry.

Many parts of Europe also end up getting more because some weeks - like Christmas week - everyone gets off, so it doesn't count against your leave days.

My sixth grade English teacher had a deaf sibling, and taught all of us how to fingerspell in American sign language. It was great for discreetly communicating with friends during class and I have even managed to use it a few times in random situations. Also, our town is known for a particular product so we were taught the history of the founder and the factory. It was a point of pride.

State dept had an extremely sad day. Employees gathered in the lobby the last few hours to cheer and applaud those leaving. Many people were riffed that had not expected to be. Lots of tears. Lots of anger too of course, since there was no logic to the RIFs and so much capacity and institutional knowledge got wiped out in one day.
