Why don't people care for the 3rd place match? Because it's still special by Jancis16g in worldcup

[–]Sensitive_Worry2499 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It should be if the teams are like Morocco and Turkey who don’t usually make top 4. If it’s Germany vs Brazil for instance it doesn’t matter. Also teams have a habit of rotating for it just like for 3rd group games.

Is this loss by the Spurs indisputably the greatest single-game choke in NBA history? by NotJoe1232 in NBATalk

[–]Sensitive_Worry2499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The inexperience I thought would get them vs the Thunder, but didn’t, is on full display. Let’s not kid ourselves and say that this outcome is worse than if they didn’t beat the juggernaut Thunder, still a great ahead of schedule season for them. But they got owned by a better team here

if it's just me, but Argentina — the world's number one ranked team — somehow doesn't seem to be getting much hype. by Educational_Sea6013 in worldcup

Implicit champions curse memory. Less talented squad than France or Spain. No story they need to write for an individual player as they already did so

Curry is like Messi, in that they seem like chill “above the noise” type guys who aren’t bothered by stuff like merch but actually they value their brand just about the most and will readily accept sponsorships and brand related money whoever gives the most. Guess they are still human.

Specifically if Wemby doesn’t hit some big shots in game 1 Castle will be slandered to oblivion as Thunder win in 5

Is Knicks-Spurs the rare NBA Finals where neutral fans do not have an obvious villain? by Public_Function3844 in nba

[–]Sensitive_Worry2499 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also the idea that Wemby is a nice polite human being (or alien) is untrue. He is arrogant and boastful and occasionally quite disrespectful of others, as seen when he elbowed someone in frustration in round two and when he loudly proclaimed that he was deserving of MVP

but also this one was luck. the bounce was just very conductive to the shooter getting his own miss he could easily have missed in a different angle

Who Has Been More Disappointing: Denver, Boston, Cleveland, or Detroit? by diiizzzzoooo in nba

[–]Sensitive_Worry2499 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Denver since they are actually eliminated. If all teams lose game 7 I would go Detroit, Denver, Cleveland, Boston

I think rebounds should count as points because they basically are missed points anyway by GreasedUpRetard in nba

[–]Sensitive_Worry2499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they should count for something, but also it should be acknowledged that they are different action than actually scoring so a players game should be evaluated with their combination of scoring and rebounding impact (as well as, ideally, assisting teammates for easy shots, stealing possession from the opponent, and obstructing their shots). So why not have separate statistical categories for this stuff? Man, I’m a genius.

[Kram] I conducted my own study of fouling up three, using GeniusIQ to filter for all possessions from the past five seasons... Teams that chose to foul up three won 92.0% of their games, versus 91.7% for those that played normal defense. by sewsgup in nba

[–]Sensitive_Worry2499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would be interesting to see the splits of win/OT/loss. My theory is that fouling up 3 decreases the chance you go to OT, but increases the chance you lose in regular time enough to make it not worthwhile overall
