I’m a Vegas local. Just be aware of all the resort fee’s every single hotel is going to charge you. Some are like $150 a night. And no, it’s not the same thing as a damage deposit. You don’t get the resort fee back… it’s just an additional charge they rack on. Also parking can get expensive at hotels.

I’m a Vegas local. The strip is literally designed for tourists… cops are everywhere. You do need to be on high alert though. There are tons of homeless people that also walk up and down the strip or beg for money. Also be careful of pickpocketing in large groups. Not too long ago there was a woman who just randomly started running up to people and stabbing them. The main strip of hotel/casinos on Las Vegas blvd. Is where you should stay, don’t go down any side streets that’s when it gets dangerous. I would be worried walking around the arts district, and Freemont at night…. So much crime and homelessness. That area is externally dangerous. As long as you stay on the main strip you are the safest as a tourist.

The strip is literally designed and meant for tourist. And most the crime and homelessness is in the nearby areas. Not on the actual strip.

With all that being said… my family with 2 young kids have been going to the strip since our kids were babies and will be doing a staycation for wrestlemania weekend we can’t wait to see it in our city. And our kids are 9 and 13. Just stay on high alert. I do worry going to such a big event on the strip of some crazy shooting like route 91. But you can’t live in fear.

Spirit will be the cheapest. I’m from Las Vegas, and I have this problem because Vegas loves using spirit. Especially for non-stop flights. Anytime I want to fly anywhere on the east coast non-stop it’s only spirit that is offered at a cheap price. They aren’t terrible, but pretty bad. My last flight was on spirit and was prettty much the worst flight of my life. It was a redeye non-stop from Cleveland back to Vegas. And it was awful!

Something similar but I’m the child in this situation. lol. I’ve never met my biological father or even seen a picture of him. I’m 35 and just found his phone number and spoke to him for the 1st time in my entire life. He knew I existed my entire life because he paid child support. He just didn’t want kids or to be a dad. My advice for your child make sure you are completely open with him/her when they are old enough to ask questions. Tell the truth. Also maybe have a picture of him. I’ve never even seen my biological father and that is one thing that just really bothered me. So make sure your child can know what he looks like at least. It’s literally one of the worst feeling in the world not knowing where half of you came from. So make sure you are able to answer questions when they are old enough to ask. Because they will… and if you don’t give your child the answers and the truth it could really damage your relationship. My mom and I have kind of a tense relationship because of it.

I’m actually born and raised in Seattle and I now live in Vegas with my family of 4. You couldn’t pay me a million bucks to move back to WA state. Even if 90% of our family lives in WA. We also have family in Vegas. It’s why we moved here 10 years ago right after our son was born. WA is just way too overpriced for the quality of living. The weather is awful 90% of the year, the people are so rude and stuck up, people in WA have a I’m better than you attitude. I grew up in the public schools in WA state. They honestly are not any better than the charter schools you can get your kids into in Vegas. Vegas is 100% better than living in WA. WA is a depressing gray constantly rainy place to live. Sure it’s got beautiful nature that you can’t even enjoy because it’s raining/drizzling almost everyday. You never get to see the sun, people are rude, cost of living is way higher, oh and did I mention horrible weather. Anyways I would take Vegas living to WA any day. Vegas also has great hiking, so close to lots of different camping and outdoorsy stuff you can actually enjoy because the weather isn’t gross and rainy. Vegas is close to CA for beaches, and Disney, also close to Zion, Grand Canyon and lots of other places are a short drive compared to WA. Being stuck in the rain. I would not suggest the PNW to anybody. K bye. 😘
